Playstation Detroit: Become Human

I still haven't played Uncharted Lost Legacy, so I'll have to put Detroit on my waitlist

I have been playing Telltale's The Walking Dead on PS Now. It's not bad, but it feels so cheap in comparison to what Quantic Dream does with their story based games.

There’s a clear difference in budget, yes, but Quantic Dream can only dream of writing anything as good as Telltale’s best stuff.

I'll judge Telltale once I play more of their games, but right now I'm not in love with the writing of the Walking Dead season 1. It's good, but I prefer what Quantic Dream has done so far.

I just finished it and I will say the begining was rather slow. I didnt initially like it but it grew on me
There was some stuff I didnt agree with. Like when Connor was faced with the decision to kill Chloe, I didnt. The game tried to use that as a point to say its bc he was deviant but my rationale for doing was that was obeying Hank over Kamski.

I have to say that I was disappointed that we weren't given the option to beat up or kill Leo at the end. There should have been a choice when he pops up again

I think I was playing a good walkthrough until the chapter where they all meet. I had my Connor remain a machine which ended up resulting in him being killed. I tried to play Marcus as a pacifist but got so discouraged with all the androids dying that I said the hell with it and went the revolution route

My Kara, Alice and Luther made it out alive and they reached the border

I just finished it too last night. This was a great game. The only person I lost was Luther but I went for the happy ending on it's more advanced level. It might give it some time and play it again later. But I was very happy with the game. One thing I will say though is this game reminds me of the TV show Humans.

I'm pretty far into the story and I'm really enjoying it. This isn't my favorite Quantic Dream game, but it's very good. Detroit: Become Human lacks in some good gameplay and can be slow from time to time, but it is overall very compelling and has an impressive amount of choices/outcomes.

Just bought it and I couldn't resist playing it when I installed it and to me,this game feels completely fresh. The parts with the guy from Grey's Anatomy and Kara (wish i didn't watch the trailer in the extras section) are little slow, but I'm really enjoying that detective android with the two parts that I've completed and I just can't wait to see how things progress especially I heard one of these playables can be killed right before the ending. The only game in ps4 that I finished twice (from start to finish) is Uncharted a Thief's End and I might play this again after I finished the game (choosing the different choices) to see how things differ from my first playthrough.

And I just love the graphics. There's just something so glossy about it and even though the camera is a bit wonky, I like the change from the usual the 3rd perspective view for a change.

My review:
I love this game. I usually don't care much abiut the story when it comes to videogames, but this one really hooked me. Its not a traditional game where there's a game over and you can level up skills/characters after finishing segments/missions. Even though the action here is mostly quicktime buttons, it doesn't really feel repetitive and the quicktime events made me glue to the screen. I really liked that this game for a change and I'm just in awe how different my 1st/2nd/3rd playthroughs are. I expected minor changes and only major changes in the ending, but the game had drastic changes in the early part of the story, before the climax. There are segments that are similar but there are quite a lot of differences if you choose a different path/decision.

First playthrough: Kara/Marcus died in the end. Alice was killed as well at the bus station. Hank killed himself. Connor was shot in the twice in the head and he was replaced by a new model in the post credits.

Second playthrough: I tried to make a lot of changes and in some scenarios, I didn't fight back and look for the suspects to see how things would play out, but I couldn't believe how drastic the changes were. Connor was shot in the head in the first mission. Alice was the one that shot the guy who was abusing her. Marcus was killed before the last two to three Jericho segments. Luther died earlier when he was shot by the cop. Alice/Kara still made it to end but they were sent to that Androids prison camp and were slaughtered with the other androids. Connor finally sided with his fellow androids and his partner didn't die which I really liked, but there was a scene in the end that the woman he was talking to was planning the revolution all along and there was option for him to shot himself.

Third playthrough: Connor fell in the building in the first mission and his partner pushed him off the building towards the end. The guy abusing Alice wasn't killed. Kara left Alice in the android camp.

Fourth playthrough: Alice/Kara were killed very early. I finally accessed Marcus going to android detention camps peacefully and it was my first playthrough which he wasn't killed. Simon/Josh also reached the end. Connor's partner was shot by the another Conner and died.

I've already finished 4 playthroughs and there's still plenty of scenarios that I haven't seen/unlocked. I know there's an option to play a chapter without starting from the very start, but I prefer to play from the start, to see how it really affects the characters' endgame.

If there's another thing I really liked about this game is this is probably the best looking videogame I have ever played. The graphics just look smooth, it doesn't have that grainy look which Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War both have. I also really like the designs of the clothing of the androids. The design of the places. I like how there's an android talking in the menu screen. I like that the extras section also included behind the scenes commentary. I like that the 3 main characters have their own gameplay style/music composer. I really like the cast and acting of this. I know Jesse Williams and Minka Kelly for over a decade now and there was a sense of familiarity that they are in the game. Their characters were intriguing as well. I also like the npcs like Rose, Hank and I love Chloe's appearance in the main game and I wish she had more scenes. The acting really elevates the story and it plays a factor in my decision making.

My favorite character is Connor. His segments are never dull. Like some segments with Kara and especially Marcus were a bit slow but there was never a slow moment with Connor. I really liked those investigation missions. The chase scene in the roof tops was thrilling. I really enjoyed that. Then when he finally became a deviant in my second playthrough... it was just a classic moment. I was waiting for it. I also liked his relationship with Hank especially when he saved Hank's life.

This is one of the best videogames I've ever played. The camera sometimes look wonky and there are some segments I find tedious in replays (there's no skip button for the dialogues/cutscenes to fasten the gameplay) but the whole thing is just an experience. This is the first videogame I played in ps4 more than trice and I still find something new and important to every new playthrough. Its just awesome!

Detroit Become Human Sales at 6 Million, Best-Selling Quantic Dream Game

Quantic Dream is the studio I want Sony to require. Their games were eXclusive to Sony for a period of time and their story driven games line up to Ps' best eXclusives. I love Detroit, I enjoyed Heavy Rain and I am surprisingly enjoying Beyond Two Souls right now. I hope their neXt game is near.

Ubisoft might be a better fit for Quantic Dream given their sexual harassment issues.

Ah also known as
Cyber Jesus and friends.

Connor was easily the game for me. Markus and Kara (outside looking kinda like Jennifer Lawrence) were forgettable.

I disagree Markus and Kara's story was just as good for me as well. Honestly it's a shame this game doesn't get the praise it should.

I've been going through PS Plus freebies and just got done with this. I'm glad to play for free in light of the studio's controversy, but I must say this was a really fun experience. Not the type of game I gravitate toward but the branching story is impressive as hell. I liked the protagonists and had to make some tough choices. Started a second playthrough to play out some other scenarios, the amount of outcomes is insane.
