My understanding is that Romita is by now pretty far ahead, and the scheduling of the titles is determined by managing the tie-ins (especially the miniseries).

Really? That is pretty cool. I suppose it helps that he is, by modern standards, a fast artist, WWH is shorter than CW, and there are fewer tie-in's/more lead-in time. Of course Romita Jr., much like Mark Bagley and a few others, thrived in a market where books actually weren't late by nature.

One of the best parts of WWH thus far is how they've been handling the tie-ins. A significant improvement over Civil War.

From the few tie-ins that I actually have been reading, I agree.

My opinion is a mixed bag, although admittedly I only got maybe 1/5th of the tie-ins (GHOST RIDER and AVENGERS: INITIATIVE basically). Pak writes both HULK and WWH so I would expect those to gel nicely. My problem is some of the tie-in's seem very random, like a pointless excuse for a fight scene. That was the GHOST RIDER tie-in. Way had to almost bend over backwards for an excuse as to why Ghost Rider bumps into Hulk, and the ending was predictable. You could argue the same for WWH: X-MEN; the Hulk, apparently during the 24 hour period given in WWH #1, decides to cripple the X-Men over a rhetorical question for Xavier, a man who in no way had anything to do with the bad stuff that happened to him. The X-Man Hulk would have most beef over is Wolverine, but they've TEAMED UP about as often as they've fought. Reviews say the art is pretty and the action is nice, but I already buy enough books that I don't need to collect the obligatory X-mini. And then FRONTLINE has Jenkins essentially ignoring whatever Pak writes in the core mini to continue his tirade against the United States; this matched well with Millar, who probably loves Castro more than Bush. But Pak isn't writing that story, and Jenkins ignoring the stuff Pak writes in a key mini no less just to continue the drumbeat of checking off his Liberal Breast-Beating Cliche Handbook of Preaching to the Choir (the U.S. government hates the poor, black people, wishes they would all die, and so on, as if absolutely nothing has changed in 50 years, which is a bold faced lie, even if we still have a ways to go).

My issue with some of the WWH tie-in's is that the core story itself is simple and doesn't lend itself well to massive tie-in's without them feeing pointless or obligatory just to appease Hulkamaniacs with more Gamma-Victims. The exception was AVENGERS: INITIATIVE, so far.

I'm only up to the 4th arc, but it really is as good as everybody says.

Yeah, INVINCIBLE is awesome. Bugging people for the first HC as a gift for a year after it got recommended was a good decision.

And I'll read WALKING DEAD when TheCorpulent1 reads DAREDEVIL, since we both have the same reason essentially for not bothering (Corp doesn't care for DD as a character, I don't care for zombies as a genre, least enough to spend $100 on HC's and TPB's). ;)

Dread, did you ever Cap a go? I thought I remembered you talking about maybe picking it up...

Waiting for the Omnibus that has #1-24 plus one or two of the one-shots that Marvel should be releasing eventually.

It should be free with the Super Saver Shipping. Either way, it's still a whole lot cheaper than retail price.

I don't think I've ever ordered from Amazon. Is the Super Shipping thing something you have to sign up for, or is like everything under a certain amount is free shipping?
