Diamond List for August 1, 2007

I don't think I've ever ordered from Amazon. Is the Super Shipping thing something you have to sign up for, or is like everything under a certain amount is free shipping?

Usually, anything over $25 has free shipping, catch is, it takes longer to ship, a week to a week in a half really. While if you pay for shipping, at the lowest price, you get it in 3-5 days.

Anything over $25 ain't bad at all. I'd wait the extra few days.

No, never had to. But I really wouldn't do it.

I was just curious as to the kind of experience one would have doing that. I've ordered from Midtown Comics and Graham Crackers, and I was pleased with both of them. For some reason buying comics on Amazon doesn't seem like a good idea, though.

No it doesn't, chances are it's not direct from them anyway but from one of their vendors.

Vendors? You've lost me. I'm Amazon-******ed. I thought Amazon was a series of giant warehouses across the world, or something.

It's mostly with used books and items and such. You're actually buying from a third party and not Amazon directly.

Really? I had no idea. Does Amazon stand behind their items if one of these vendors isn't up to snuff, or are you SOL in the event that one does suck?

This is like watching someone explain the use of VCRs to an 80 year old.
