I've not been reading the regular IM ongoing so I can't comment. I guess I just put my expectations too high or something for the series as I love Fraction and his Casanova series and his run on Iron Fist.

Just seems I can't really get into it. I like Zeke fine and all that, but this tech warfare angle just, I dunno, isn't really doing it for me. I mean we haven't really finished an arc or anything yet so maybe it's too early to label it a dissappointment.

I was disappointed in the issue of Invincible Iron Man I read because it was so incredibly similar to DoS, only it skewed a bit away from the intrigue and politics that, in my opinion, make DoS great. I wondered why two books covering practically the exact same stuff needed to exist. Obviously, my question's been answered now that we know DoS is becoming War Machine, so Fraction's comic should comfortably fill the void and give people all the patented Tony Stark *****ebaggery they could want. I won't be reading it, though. Salvador Larroca's art is terrible and, frankly, the bit that IIM skews away from the politics and over to Tony's personal life is a bit too much for me.

No, I'm not confused about why more Spider-Man stuff is coming out, I'm confused about why they're releasing a one-shot packed with material that's irrelevant to Brand New Day. The solicit makes it sound like the King-Size issue is a bunch of pre-OMD stories. Why remind Spider-Man fans of the golden days before Faustian bargains that Marvel management has apparently decided to blame on that no-good, rotten wife of his when a lot of fans still aren't reading BND because they're so upset about what's been done to the character?

Yeah, I understood what you meant, I was just saying Marvel seems to want to dig anything and everything to fill out that extra week no matter what the time period the books are set in.

For the same reason DC teases fans about better times with Nightwing, Kyle, Wally, or so on. Because companies will try to draw blood, or extra cash, from a stone whenever they can, and if that means kicking a section of fans when they are down, so be it.

Of course, to play Devil's Advocate, to pretend the pre-OMD stories and continuity never happened would be dishonest. Even if the mainstream comics mostly do.
