woah, and those are maybe's. slow week for me. :o

So, I don't know about anyone else, but I called my shop and they said they've got their comics for this week today.

So, I don't know about anyone else, but I called my shop and they said they've got their comics for this week today.

Shouldn't they get them today? My store usually picks them up Wednesday morning on the way to the shop.

Yeah, but holidays tend to screw Diamond shipments up. But I guess since July 4th fell on a weekend this year, it didn't matter.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised myself, it seems Diamond is always looking for excuses to delay with holidays, even when it makes absolutely no sense to do so

For real. This week turned out to be even smaller than I expected for me, though, so it wouldn't have really mattered. Nothing important came out.

Really, they came out today? I could've stopped by the comic shop after work. Technically I could go right now, but it's about 30 minutes away, and I've already settled my ass at home for the evening.

I'm glad they came out today because I completely forgot about the holiday. I would have rushed to get there and been ticked if I didn't get anything out of it.

I barely got anything out of it. $20 worth of comics. Usually I spend twice that and have at least two or three comics that I'm really excited for. This week the best I got was Booster Gold, REBELS, and War of Kings: Warriors. All good, but not on my "omg I can't wait to read this!!!11" list.

I'm actually trying to get my spending DOWN to $20 a week. I just can't afford beyond that anymore. Of course, with today's prices that's only a few comics, which sucks. Fortuntely, I only really wanted about $15 worth this week. My wife actually gave me a $30 limit this week (decent week for us) so I went and bought some Spectre stuff I've been wanting. Some of the "Tales of the Unexpected" mini and the 2 newest Justice Society issues. After reading the 3 issue Spectre mini after Infinite Crisis and Final Crisis: Revelations, I've fallen in love with the character. I borrowed the Tales of the Unexpected from my brother-in-law and loved it, so now I'm just trying to get my own collection. I saw that he was in JSA so I got those but haven't read them yet.

I also hear he was in some other mini that I'm missing. Any clue what that is?

This was a slow week. My "average" is about $20 of comics a week although given shipping schedules some weeks are less and one or two are larger a month. With the rise of $4 comic it is harder to stretch that $20 a week even with a 10% discount at my shop. Marvel, though, has decided it would rather make more money from comics than to have more people reading them. Thinking short term is what makes business great. Between recessions, of course.

Most likely Final Crisis: Revelations. That's the only other mini I can think of that featured Cris heavily.

I know about that one. I'm thinking it was something else like Tales of the Unexpected. I'll have to look around and see where I may have read that.

Though it makes me mad. I went to put the new stuff with my previous Spectre stuff (Final Crisis: Revelations and the Spectre 3-issue mini) and I can't find them anywhere. I'm hoping my brother-in-law is borrowing them but I don't think he is. They're just gone! I'm so annoyed.
