Diamond List for June 13, 2007

Actually, they did collect Hush finally in the Absolute format.
Which is what I said; they haven't collected Hush in one volume other than as an Absolute, which is the most expensive format they have.

I have that. First Absolute I ever bought. It's freakin' sweet too.

I'm considering the Absolute Sandman vol. 1 or Kingdom Come, even though I already have the Kingdom Come hardcover.

What's the difference between a hardcover and an "absolute"? Is the latter alcoholic, or something?

No, that would be an "Absolut."

Absolute books are larger than hardcovers and usually have more extras. For something like Kingdom Come, the "larger than hardcovers" part is easily enough for me to buy it on its own, though.

I got Kingdom Come too. It's freakin awesome. The Extras are great as they give back story on every character in the book with sketches. But the best one I own would definitely be New Frontier. That book's like bound and wrapped comic ambrosia.

That's another one I'm considering. I liked volume 1 of New Frontier, but I haven't gotten volume 2 yet. I figure I might as well spring for the Absolute.

Trust me, it's worth it. I bought it in comic form when it came out, and I still grabbed the Absolute.

Avengers Classic #1
Fallen Son: Spider-Man
Franklin Richards: World Be Warned #1
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #21
Mystic Arcana: Magik
New Avengers #31
Punisher War Journal #8
Sub-Mariner #1
World War Hulk #1

I bought the Absolute Sandman without ever looking at the series, but heard great things, and it's probably the best buy I ever tried. There are a lot of extras, and I think another one will be out before the end of the year. Although I don't have any others, I'd recommend that if you're looking for an Absolute book.

Absolute New Frontier is good stuff.I swear, that thing literally called out to me from the shelves at Borders.

I'm like the only person in the world who doesn't love New Frontier. I read Vol. 1 and now have almost no desire to read Vol. 2. :(
