I've developed a similar system for lunch, since I read comics while eating lunch so frequently now. I split my table area into quadrants:

- top-left contains my drink, isolated far enough away from the comics that I can move them if I knock it over or something
- bottom-left contains my comics, adjusted occasionally for glare if necessary
- bottom-right contains my food, which may only be accessed using my right hand
- top-right contains a generous supply of napkins.

I pity you.

I prefer to top-left quadrant my comics with my food bottom-left directly in front of me. Napkins off to the side next to the food and drink as far to the top-right corner as safe proximity to the edge allows.

I find my comics catch a lot of glare when I do that. I don't know if light just hates me or what.
