I figure I'll skim Fear Itself 7.1. It's the only aftermath comic I'm likely to get because I like funeral issues and Brubaker's a better writer than Fraction so this one's a maybe. I have to drop books and I've dropped 4 DC book. OMAC is on the fence so I figure I'll skim this issue before buying it just in case but I'll likely get it.

As for the definates, I'm most excited for Swamp Thing. This is my favorite book of the New 52 and potentially one of my favorite books that I'm currently buying. X-23 is always pleasant for me and I'm real curious how Uncanny X-Men will be post-Schism. The two X-Men books that are on the potential cutting block, New Mutants and X-Men are also coming out so we'll see how they do. I'm curious what the next arc of New Mutants will be because I've not enjoyed much of DnA's run but I do like Blink and Nate Grey so I'm sticking with it through at least the end of this arc.

I like how the POINT ONE initiative was designed to introduce readers to a comic through a stand alone issue at a "low" price of $2.99... and yet here's a POINT ONE that has nothing to do with an ongoing and is priced at $3.99. Marvel is a joke.

I've actually never even heard of the song. My wife was watching a top 100 songs of the 00's countdown on VH1 and that song came on and I was like, "what's this?" By the end of it I was in awe. I didn't even realize it was a remake. I'm not a fan of the Nine Inch Nails so I doubt I'd care for their version as much as I like Cash's. Something about the lyrics and his life winding down just makes it magical. It breaks my heart when I see him crying in the video, or his wife standing over his shoulder knowing they only have a few weeks left together at that point.

The Nine Inch Nails version sounds roughly the same. It's not like more metalish or anything. Cash's voice and the acoustic guitar do make it a bit more haunting, though.

Let the record show Marvel is now selling 0.1 issues of mini series. Why not just make it a 6 issue mini? That's still what it is. Sigh.

HAUNT #18 is months behind schedule. INVINCIBLE's schedule is wonky too. Those Kirkman books, man.

Technically, AVENGERS ACADEMY will be double-shipping if this schedule holds out. Issue #20 comes out 10/26, only a week before Nov. 2nd. Just it seems like it's two different months. There could be some delay as AA #19 was about 1-2 weeks late. But because the series is done by rotating artists, it may not be; Sean Chen may be on schedule with his issue, while Raney may be the rushing.

ASM #673 will be the epilogue to SPIDER-ISLAND, and likely serve as a promotional tool for SCARLET SPIDER #1. We're back to feast-or-famine for Marvel. This week, only 4 Marvel books. How does October leave me? With 10 Marvel books. Insanity.

I'm glad you had a chance to discover this amazing song by Cash, but it blows me away that you "just" heard it... because it's been about 8 years since I first heard it...
