I'm still on the Jim Sturgess bandwagon

36, but again he looks a lot younger

All choices for Nightwing obviously. I don't want a young Robin in these movies.

It doesn't make sense, given this Batman's psyche, for him to have had more than one "Robin", so unless you want to make it so that Dick Grayson doesn't exist or exists but isn't a superhero, making him the person Bruce lost is the only way that the timeline and intent of the "Death of Robin" works.

Two Robins can work, but not more than two. You can have Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, but Dick Grayson has to be older. Jason Todd's death has to be what pushes Batman over the edge. IMO, Nightwing should be 20 when he's recruited as Robin in 2000. He's Robin for 3 or 4 years, and then has a falling out with Bruce, either over his personality or something. Batgirl's recruited within that time. Nightwing leaves after his falling out in 2003 or 2004, and Jason Todd becomes Robin. Jason Todd is killed by Joker in 2005, and Barbara Gordon is paralyzed in that same year. This sends Batman over the edge. A grief-stricken Bruce pushes away Barbara Gordon, in part because he doesn't want her to get hurt even more. Dick Grayson even tries to come back, but Bruce pushes him away as well, not wanting to bring them back into the life of crimefighting. Bruce doesn't deal with his grief and guilt well, and spirals down a dark path that leads to him killing criminals (as we've seen in BvS).

So, this is a Batman who actually ends up crossing that line, but it's not a line that he can't back recover from later. And to explain why he doesn't kill Joker, well, he immediately beats Joker to a pulp but still maintains his no-killing rule. So, Joker ends up in Arkham. But as the years pass, Bruce's guilt gets worse and worse and it's only after that point that he throws away his guilt. And I'd have that happen gradually. He becomes more and more brutal, until he ends up killing a criminal. And, instead that waking him up out of his grief and guilt, he rationalizes and justifies it. That'd illustrate just how broken he becomes, before BvS and before Superman shows him the light.

So, in that way, two Robins can certainly work. Bruce essentially gives the whole sidekick/ally thing another shot after Dick Grayson leaves, but it's when his two allies are hurt badly that he decides to give up on it all. It's pretty much a similar situation to how Bruce was depressed over Rachel's death in TDK trilogy, except this is a Batman who turns that anger against criminals and essentially lashes out in rage.

But this does it in a way where you have both Robins and a Batgirl while maintaining the proper timeline.

If Kit Harrington had a personality he would make a really interesting Nightwing

L. Ron Hubbard

There is no reason to make Dick so old when he joins you could easily follow the modern versions where Dick himself insists on being Robin with or without Batman and Batman training him is just an act to protect the kid, I would personally make it so his parents were killed and he went of the rails so instead of just staying with his circus he goes to live as a vagrant in Gotham in search of vengeance and started living on the streets of Gotham at 14 and has been looking for clues ever since and at the same time he has been learning how to fight by participating in street fighting by learning to blend practical fighting gained through his hands on experience with his acrobatic talents. He'd have also run into Batman a few times and had to be saved now and again then at 15 two years after he starts his mission he catches a break and gets a clue with his pursuit of it putting him in the worst danger yet and a situation where he and Batman are forced to work together and thus the Robin is born.

Agreed. No one wants an old Dick. However, a Dick that's hardened after years of being beaten around and stuck in some really tight spots would be ideal.

Well he would be older as Batman is old as well so depending on the age range as Dick can vary from 10 to 20 years younger than Bruce so he could range from 25 to 35, they definitely need to make him very skilled as he would have to have been trained as an acrobat most of his life and a fighter for all his young adult life.

Why did it take me two whole days to realize what Rows just did? :csad:

Not my first choice* but after seeing him in The Big Short and finding out he'll be appearing in La La Land and, heck, even AHS, I think Finn Wittrock is the most realistic choice.

Again, not the most interesting pick but he seems like the kind of actor that WB and co. would be looking at. He looks the part, at least.

*first choice was Ehrenreich but he'll be busy with Star Wars until the end of times.

Hahaha, don't be so hard on yourself, man. :woot:

Anyway, I hope we get a sequence where Bruce teaches Dick a lesson. I want to see Bruce slap Dick around a bit. Too often, Dick is just too stuck-up and easily rubbed the wrong way. It will be good to see Dick get a good beatdown and eventually go limp.

That's a bit too much Dick for me. A flash of Dick would be ok. In, out and done.

Different strokes for different folks, I suppose.

I personally feel like we haven't gotten enough Dick. We had a Dick tease in TDKR, and then again in BvS. So far, Dick has just been on the outside, patiently awaiting his turn to come in.

Alright, that's enough. You guys have squeezed this one dry. :o
