Did anyone get teary eyed or cried when.........

I loved that scene, "Do it, DOO IT" I cant cry during movies for some reason but I got really sad. My friends were near tears.

I did. :waa: Most powerful moment in the film for me.

I have a such a soft spot for characters who are "bad" but not truly bad, just messed up because of a crappy life. I just want to give them all hugs.

Almost. Never had that happen before during a comic book movie. And the fact that there was no music...

The man gave an incredible performance there.

Absolutely. Best part of the film, and Haley's signature moment in an excellent performance.

i didn't cry,i just think rorshach was one of the best characters ever created. a lot crazy, even dare i say misunderstood?

2nd. Got kinda choked up

The Rorschach death scene didn't get to me, but what hit me the most was in the second Watchmen trailer, from 0:09 - 0:29

As I think more about it, I feel more for the Comedian character. All alone in his apartment, unable to be with his child or the woman he loves, we all know what's going to happen and so does he, his reply to the intruder, no witty comeback, no threat, his entire struggle in vain to just survive, a painful death.

He may have deserved it in some ways, but I still feel for the him in those few moments, than I do for any other character in the movie.

Best moment in the film, easily. I so got choked up. And the reason is because it was simply better than in the comic.

I've read Watchmen twice, second time recently. And as amazing as the character has been on the printed page for twenty years, this single moment proved to me that it was a great idea to make the comic into a film.

It was more powerful than any comic could ever be. It was tragic, beautiful, sad, proud, amazing, everything and it's all due to Haley's performance. Incredible. I love that after he took off his mask like I was expecting, and he begins to tear up like I was expecting, I wasn't expecting for him to be quiet and sad about it. I remember the book showing that he is angry and yelling for one panel before Manhattan does it. But then after this moment of humanity, Rorschach goes right back to never compromising, even in the face of armageddon, and demands that Manhattan just do it.

God, I felt just like Nite Owl after he did it, even though I was expecting it.

I didnt cry but it was Haley's finest moment for me.
One thing that annoyed me was Dans presence in the scene. Kovacs should've been alone with Manhatten. It's an incredibly personal moment for him. The lonely, cold, violent death of a lonely, cold, violent man.
Seemed like the only reason Dan was there was to provide a nice, Hollywood "Aaaaaaaaaaarghhh!" That'd look good in the trailer.

Adding "Unforgettable" in the background just makes it more heartwrenching as well. Excellent scene.

I think you should add that to your sig. Are we just gonna keep on exchanging <(o o)> or should we go the extra step and make a "Hug Rorschach!" club? :funny:

I thought it was sad but I didn't get teary eyed.
R.I.P Walter Kovaks/Rorschach

P.S. LoL at your signature.

I didn't quite get choked up, but I did have a certain :wow: look on my face. Rorschach was my favorite character from the novel and the film. Jackie Earle Haley did such a good job bringing the character to life, and the last few minutes he was on screen were so emotion-filled.

It's definitely one of the few scenes in the cinema that grab you at five different places in the throat.

i can't believe i haven't seen this movie yet. gah.

i'm really looking forward to this scene.

The first time around I found the scene incredibly powerful and you can't help but feel sad for Rorschach. The combination of JEH intensely saddened facial expressions and that delightfully happy yet sad music in the background made for such a great scene (JEH acting to top it off). During my second viewing I enjoyed the scene even more (and I loved it the first time). It seems like this film only gets better than it already is with multiple viewings.

I still believe to this day that Rorschach despite his aggressive approach towards certain situations was the most caring and emotionally sensitive out of the 6 Crimebusters. He just had a problem conveying care/remorse to anyone because of his own ghosts that haunted him.

I felt worse for him when he had his 'face' taken off him by the police.

It doesn't make sense if they did that in the film. In the book, they don't even acknowledge anything about it. It's his friend and his partner, and um, no reaction? Just boning Laurie in the back then? Hmm, I wonder if that will work.

Yeah, some people liked how the the movie dealt with the closure between him and Dan.

This scene and the Rorschach's Diary Entry about the Comedian were really powerful scenes. I felt the good ol' butterflies in my stomach as I watched them.

"Good joke. Snare drum. Curtain falls..."

EDIT: Hurray double postage!

To compensate, here's a nice joke:

A man goes to the doctor. Says he's depressed. He says life seems harsh and cruel. Says he feels all alone in a threatening world where what lies ahead is vague and uncertain. The doctor says "The treatment is simple. The great clown Pagliacci is in town tonight. Go and see him, that should pick you up." The man bursts into tears. He says "But doctor... I am Pagliacci."

Nah, didn't cry. But I was really bummed that the best, BEST effin chracter in the movie was killed.

It certainly made me sad, but I expected it. Now my wife, who hadn't read the GN, cried a little bit. Rorschach was her favorite character too.

I honestly did get teary eyed when Rorschach was killed and was actually surprised I felt that way.
