Did anyone get teary eyed or cried when.........

It was such a great, powerful scene, that I was really waiting for the entire movie.... and then some c*** behind me started giggling. :cmad:

****ing general audiences.

i didn't feel sad at all, but i really appreciated the terrific acting by haley.

I felt sad, I haven't read the novel (the one time I saw it in a store, I had no money with me :() but I knew that Rorshach would die. But I didn't expect to like him as much as I did & it got to me. It was probably the saddest thing in an action movie I've seen in a while

I did get teary-eyed during this scene yes, as I just didnt want him to die, loved him in the book, loved him in the movie, and JEH's performance just made that scene that much better.

Considering the Shakespearean level performance by JEH that practically elevated the film beyond what I expected to get out of Snyder, yes, this scene was incredibly powerful and heart-breaking. I did not cry, but part of that was that it was with a really bad audience and while they all got silent for that scene, they immediately giggled uncomfortably at the shot of his blood in the snow, taking me out of the moment.

I did tear up when I saw that part. It was part the tale, part Rorscarch's reaction and part Haley's acting which really drove it home. Bravo Haley!

Well I didnt cry like a ***** but yea the scene was as emotional as it was in the book. And Dan being there made it even more so.

Crying makes you weak or a *****? I must have missed that memo....

:facepalm

Thanks again for perpetuating the stereotype :down

No problem.

It's one thing to cry but over a movie? come on.

It's called catharsis, look it up. Plus, I dare you to watch the following movies and just try not to cry

Schindler's List
Glory
Big Fish
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Wrestler
Babel
The Last Samurai
Blood Diamond
The Lord of the Rings Trilogy

If you don't cry at least while watching Schindler's List, you have NO SOUL.

I rarely cry during movies. However, I DID cry all through the end of King Kong ( the Peter Jackson remake ) and Phantom of the Opera ( the Schumacher one )......:o

Ah yes, I forgot to mention King Kong. I personally hated the recent film version of Phantom of the Opera, but thats mostly because I hate the play and think that Andrew Loyd Webber is an overrated hack and has little to no talent whatsoever, and that Stephen Sondheim has more genius and talent in his pinky than Webber has ever had in his whole life. :ikyn

What does taking a dump have to do with it?

Other than SL and Glory, that is a horrible list of movies that can make you cry. I would've at least expected Lion King in there. I'm trying to think back and I dont think I have ever gotten teary eyed from watching a movie.

powerful scene and played out perfectly by haley and crudup.

btw the opening credits were great ive listened to that song about 500 more times since seeing the movie. what was up with the crappy cover of desalation row at the end though?!?!?

p.s.
american history x people. try not to get teary eyed during that.

and the death scene in malcolm x also is sad and makes me very angry.

I bawled my eyes out at the end of Big Fish!

Anyway, I didn't cry during Rorschach's death, but it was really, really powerful. JEH's performance during that seen was very moving, especially when he takes his mask off and you can see the pain in his face.

I was also deeply moved by the opening credits. Those alone are worth the price of admission. However, I think me being moved may have more to do with the song choice.

y'know.....I'm just wonderin....if somewhere......one person in the audience reacted to Rorschach's death by saying......."Hurm."

Haley was amazing. You could really believe there was a huge boiling undercurrent of lots of different emotions behind his face in the scene. He went beyond just getting a check and going home. He was Rorschach, period.

Dan punctuated the whole scene quite well too. Thought he looked cool sprinting into Ozymandias and punching the crap out of him as well.

Yeah, Nite Owl really makes the scene even more powerful when he sinks to his knees.

I already know what it means.

It has nothing to do with "taking a dump", as you put it.

The Green Mile is a tear-jerker IMO too. I haven't seen any of those movies besides SL.
