The Green Mile is a tear-jerker IMO too. I haven't seen any of those movies besides SL.

I don't remember being choked up in King Kong, but probably because that movie was so long & boring. Plus the fact that I woke up when Kong was dead on the ground.

I love a long movie, when it's fun to watch & you like the characters.

To each his own, I suppose. I loved King Kong, as did a lot of people I know.

I forgot about The Green Mile. I didn't see that in the theaters....but I did cry when I saw it at home......

I didn't cry or even get sad. My sympathies always laid with Veidt.
Basically, it was the inevitable end of a man who wanted to die. So, he shouts and gets obliterated. I just felt like; "Well, that was strange."
Kovacs was a damaged, unpleasant man and I love how his meaningless death reflects that. And thank God that Snyder didn't just have Dan and Laurie sleep together afterwards. That was so stupid in the graphic novel.

i watched the movie before i read the graphic novel...so it was more of a SHOCK than sadness...i didn't expect that.

i thought they would go the cliche hollywood route, and DM becoming "more human"
