Diet Coke cures headaches?

Yea they add too much ice and it gives you less coke anywho.

It cures headaches because your body is addicted to the caffeine and when you don't drink one, you get a headache, you drink it and it goes away:o

Yup.

It's like alcoholism, except it doesnt quite turn people into self-pitying, moronic *******s.

No, diet soda contains aspartame with CAUSES headaches, among other horrible things, like death.

Also, a higher rate of obesity.

I love it when people tell me they drink diet sodas because they're better for you, and that there's nothing bad about diet sodas beacause there are no calories, high fructose corn syrup, or, in some cases, caffeine. So, in turn, "you can't gain weight from it."

The hilarious part about it is aspartame affects the drinker's serotonin, which causes the drinker to crave carbs... A.k.a. (in most cases), sweets.

What you don't get in sugar from the soda, studies found that some diet soda drinkers may TRIPLE by eating other carb-loaded foods just because of cravings brought on by the aspartame.

If you don't want to get fat, try not drinking soda. Not just non-diet sodas... SODAS.

Diet coke is awful. Burger King gave me diet coke once, by mistake, and I was furious.

I'd be more furious to find myself at a fast food restaurant. :down

If you have no cancer that may be a cure :P

I have....cancer? Man, cancer really makes you look back on your life. When I was a young boy, my father, took me into the city to see a marching band. He said, "Son, when you grow up, would you be the savior of the broken, the beaten, and the damned?"

Aspartame only causes diseases and cancer when eaten in excessive amounts. If you drink a couple of diet sodas or use a few packets of Sweet N Low daily you will not get cancer. If you eat 2 pounds of it a day then probably yes.

I like normal coke I am skinny as it is ,but I mainly drink juice or tea than a coke. Also, I don't see the deal with kids my age and energy drinks I mean really why the crap do you need something to make you more awake, I personally have never had one just see no point in it and there expensive too.

I chug that s**t every now and again, it's like doing coke except people don't judge you and it's not as rough. :o

Dont you ****ing judge me. :cmad:

Beer usually cures my headaches

Lol, gross.

But seriously, I'm actually surprisingly skinny for the amount of crap I eat...

How old are you? If you're young, you may have a faster metabolism. I did when I was younger, but when I hit 20, my metabolism sloooooooooooowed very badly.

Now, if I don't work out for any slighly prolonged period of time, the **** I eat starts catching up to me real fast. I hate it.

Or you may just be like my girlfriend... She's 21 and still has a lightning-fast metabolic rate. She eats like a horse and still weighs 95 lbs.

Bro, do you eat breakfast? I've been told that if you actually eat more (but in moderation and healthy foods), your metabolism speeds back up. That's why a weight lifter can just chill and eat a bucket of chicken without becoming a ball of fat. He burns it off, but his body has sped up the burning rate.

Not everyone agrees with those assertions. Diet soda is allowed, in moderation, on both the South Beach and Atkins diets, which are both carb restrictive.
On a personal note, I worked with a client a few years back who had a major weight problem. One of her major pleasures was Mountain Dew, which she drank in large amounts. Her doctor advised her to make the switch to diet soda. Within 6 months, she dropped 30 lbs with no other dietary changes and no exercise because she was in a wheelchair.
I won't say diet cola is good for you on any level but it's certainly preferable to regular cola.

To be honest, very irregularly, if I do at all. I know, I really need to start.

I also have tried that "water trick" (drinking like 20 oz. of water within an hour of waking to speed your metabolism by... 35%, I believe?).

I really need to get back into breakfast.

So there's no magic cure here? I'm just a caffeine junkie?

Caffeine is a painkiller because of the dilation of blood vessels. You may want to consider other options depending on the severity of your headaches.

If she's restricted from intaking a certain amount of carbs, that doesn't really mean she won't crave them.

It's saying that it causes cravings, which people without control or awareness over what they eat and/or drink will almost certainly indulge in.

I'm not trying to argue that either is better, really... Like I said before, if you want to lose weight, drop soda completely.

However, I do sincerely doubt that she dropped 30 lbs. with NO diet change. Either that, or the Mountain Dew was her one (and only) vice.
