Digital vs physical: What do you see yourself leaning towards?

In general have you been mostly buying and playing games physically or digitally?

In general with gaming, what and how have you been preferring to buy and play your games? Buying them digitally on steam/xbl/psn or going to the store/ordering them online and playing them with a disc?

I've gone full digital for about a year now except when I rent from the redbox.

I still prefer physical for a variety of reasons.

I buy mostly physical. I have quite a few digital ones that I got from PSN sales for really cheap. I don't wanna pay 60 dollars for every new release, plus I like having the actual games in my collection.

I just like having the game's case and having the discs in my hands, so I prefer physical copies. I also tend to buy a lot of Collector's Editions too, so yeah.

I can buy physicals copies cheaper most of the time over here in the Netherlands, would like to go full digital though.

Physical. I only buy digital if it has really cheap price on PS Store or Steam.

I'm good either way. The only thing I don't like is when the download/install for digital takes too long.

definitely physical.

though if a digital game is on sale, or if it's a digital only game, then I will buy digital on occasion. I recently picked up Gravity Rush for the PS4 digital when it was on sale in the PS Store.

I said some years ago that I would miss the day where I had all my games on the shelf.

Now...I don't care anymore. I'll probably go digital everytime it's possible in this current gen.

If I'm paying equal price, I'll always prefer to have a physical copy of the game. Although digital is far more convenient and easier. I recently bought Watch Dogs and Rayman Legends digitally only because they were on sale.

Physical is dead to me. Can't wait for a digital only future where the middle man is cut out and games get cheaper.

Being mainly a PC gamer, yeah I've gone digital for the past years. Though, I do like to get physical boxes when possible.

I prefer physical because I can't borrow a friend's digital copy -short of borrowing their entire console. I also can't lend or give away my games if I have a digital copy.

Physical. I only get digital if that's the only option there is.

I don't "lean" one way or the other, I'm head first in digital. The only physical media I get are sports games since I typically trade or sell them once the new version is out. Everything else is 100% strictly digital. Games are cheaper at launch due to the lack of tax and I can get them immediately rather than have to wait for Amazon or go stand in line at GameStop. Also there's nothing cluttering up my house, it's messy enough.

I'll never consider going digital only until consoles come with HUGE amounts of storage, digital game prices go down, download speeds increase dramatically, and data caps cease to be a thing.

Considering how both Sony and MS want gamers going digital, Im surprised the standard is still just 500 gigs.

Digital all the way. Getting off the couch to switch up games is a thing of the past. Only physical media I have for my Xbox One is what came with it when I bought it.

No clutter, no damaged or missing disks.

I still buy films on blu-ray, but when it comes to games - fully digital. For many years now. Steam and online services for consoles did their job.

I use digital now for most media simply because it's become the default. Music, tv shows, movies, and games are all pretty much in the cloud and I can switch them between my phone, console, and laptop, download times be damned.

Last gen, I was physical, but then my PS3's Blu-Ray Drive messed up so I basically had to sell all my discs. I then realized I could still play digitally, so I slowly bought them for cheap months later. Now, I prefer to get digital.

The problem is physical games are usually cheaper, so what I will do is get the physical copy when its on sale, but then once they go on sale digitally, I'll check to see if I can sell the physical copy at a local game store for the same price I'd pay for the digital copy on PSN. If its not too much of a difference, I'll buy digital and sell physical. If not, I'll keep the physical copy.

Physical always I hate digital. The day games ae all digital is the day I may be done with video games.

1. If your system breaks then you have to redownload ever thing
2. Downloading games take a long time. I find it takes a long time to even download some patches. and demos. So if it takes so long to down load just a patch then games are really going to take a long time.
3. Kind of going back to 1 if you have to get a new system and the services has went away there is no way to redown load it.
4. Kind of goes with 1 and 3 but you really don't own a digital game like you do with physical. With physical you always have the game.

When it comes to physical the only bad thing is how much space it takes up. I keep my old games and systems have them all hocked up to my TV at once so I can go back and play a game I havnt played for a while if I feel like it. That is 6 systems has I have SNES, Gamecube, Wii, Wii u, PS3 and PS4. Between all of those I have like 200+ games it takes up a lot of space. Then you have DVD and blurays and the space it takes up.

There's benefits to both sides. Physical means you always have the disk but if you lose or break it then you need to buy another while digital just means downloading it again if you delete it for more space.

I find it's easier to just buy the games digitally especially the ones that are out of print or just hard to find. I recently did that with Dark Souls 2 and Demons Souls. They weren't at any store in the city and I didn't want to wait online so I just went on PSN and bought them.

Besides, some games with bonuses only come digitally. For example as far as I know Deadly Premonition (my most favoritest game evar) is available on disc for 360. I bought it digitally on 360 after the disc tray broke and later when I said **** Microsoft I bought the Special Edition for $20 on PSN. It came with a bunch of new stuff That I am happy to have.

I've gone full digital since last year.
