Okay, okay. So I want to get a PSP, but I have absolutely no idea which model to get.

The PSP Go looks really cool. I like the smaller size and sliding screen idea, and not having to drag UMDs along, built-in memory is a plus.

Possible problems, though:
-Digital gaming only...what if the PSP breaks? Do I lose all my games? I don't know if I can back them up or not.
-PSN Store doesn't (yet) have one or two games I'd really like to get (God of War and Daxter)

PSP 3000 is very affordable, bundled at $199 with a game, a memory card, and a movie usually. Having the actual UMD is somewhat good as a backup. All games available.

But...the system is considerably larger, heavier, etc...just less portable. Have to drag UMDs along if I want to take the system somewhere for a while.

So, help me out, please! I don't know what to get. Money isn't really an issue. Is buying the games digitally okay, you think? Is there a way to back them up so if something happens to the PSP Go I'd still have my games? Do you recommend the 3000 for reasons I don't know of?

Thanks for the help! :yay:

When you buy from the PSN store, you have a download history and can re-download every game you have purchased. Saved Games files can be backed up to your computer.

Every game that comes out when the PSP Go is released will hit on UMD and DD at the same time. So if there aren't any games you like now, you will probably be able to find something you like when the PSPGo hits. As far as past titles go, Sony hasn't announced anything yet, unfortunately.

I addressed a couple of things for you. I think if money is not an issue, you should go with the Go. The price is what's holding a lot of people back right now from getting one I think.

Oh, download history. Interesting. That makes a huge difference. So you just log into your PSN account and it knows what you've downloaded. Couldn't people share games then, by logging their friends into their accounts and letting them download games they already have w/ the same PSN ID for free?

people do that that is how I get games on my ps3. My friend buys the game then I log into his account and download it for free you can do that with map packs for games to.

Personally at its price, I wouldnt get a Go bc you can get a much better value with the 3000s. If you really want a Go, dont get it when it first comes out. Wait till Black Friday or closer to Christmas, bc Im sure you will be able to find a much better deal. But since you said money isnt an issue, I guess this is a moot point

You dont have to drag any UMDs around if you are getting a PSP as all games released on the PSN are compatibile with both versions of the system. All you need is a memory stick and you are good to go

actually they are working with the publishers to put past titles on the stores. Capcom for one has been great with it and has put up most of its game up over the summer. The rest have been slower but will most likely as its to their advantage. They can put up the older games and get paid for the sale or dont and have people get them from Gamestop or some other used game avenue and get nothing. I think some liscensing issues have been the cause of some of the delays and they need to sort that out

I dont know how it works for the PSP, but with the PS3, you can share games with up to 4 other systems

Oh, okay. Thanks guys. Think I'll get a Go. I checked PSN on my PS3 and there are some games I definitely want available. I'm sure there will be more once the system is released.

I think they'd better lower that price. It's a little embarrassing that for $50 more, you can get it's bigger brother...the PS3.

Especially since its not a brand new system but a redesign of a 4 year old one.

^Haha, now I don't know anymore.

Just When Sony redeems themselves they screw up again.

May be overpriced, but I have credit to EBgames/Gamespot so money doesn't really matter to me. The concept of the GO is pretty cool, though.

Has anyone heard anything new about getting old UMD's onto the Go? I've searched and can't find anything other than the original announcement that they're trying to come up with something. It's kind of a deal breaker for me, and I'm sure many others, if I can't get my UMD's on there. I'm certainly not rebuying them if that's their plan.

They have not said anything yet. TGS starts on the 24th, so we might hear something then. You will not have to re-buy you games though.

WOOHOO, I just picked up my shiny new piano black PSP GO, (I have a 1000, it was time for an upgrade):awesome::up: I'll be downloading Motor Storm: Arctic Edge as soon as the Battery charges!!!:D:up:

I just picked up shiny new white PSP Go. Definitely the best decision ever. I can't wait to start downloading games once this baby is charged up. God of War first!!!

I get a rush of technology-lust every time I turn it on, see the Playstation set up in my hands, but in such a small device. The screen is crazy awesome, but the system's size is even crazier. And it's ridiculously light!

I bought the little fabric carrying case. I also bought screen protectors but they wouldn't stick properly...$10 I'll never get back. Anyway, I'm gonna take good care of this thing, it's godly.

My only gripe is that the system turns on when you slide the screen up...which is a bit annoying cause if you want to just show someone the slide technology it turns the system on...but it's such a minor problem.

It's so damn comfortable too. The analog is amazing.

So the analog is fine? That was one of my main concerns bc its in such an odd position. Have you tried any games with it?

Yeah, the analog is sweet. Because it's in the middle of the console, it's just like using the PS3 controller for thumb position, even though the analog is small, it has perfect resistance. It is one of the reasons this system is truly great. I thought the controls would be cramped, but I actually prefer them to the PS3 3000.

I've tried it out and it really feels intuitive. Sony really delivered with the PSP go.

I have the PSP GO, but have a quick question. Since downloading games is the only way to go, is there a way to re-arrange or sort the games and dlc in the order I want? Thank you in advance!

Yeah it's soooooo nice and the games load so fast and smoothly, it also fits in your pockets so easily, I love it!!!:D:up:

Yeah the little analog nub and the way you hold the system feels like you're holding a DS3 in your hands, simple but brilliant design!!!:awesome::up:

Get a 3000. At least it's hackable.
