Dini's Detective Comics run question

i'm trying to collect dini's DC run in tpb form. i have the first two, 'detective' and 'death in the city,' but what comes after that? what will be in tpb form when the bat-titles relaunch.

Heart of Hush

The Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul fits somewhere in between there but is really best avoided. I'm guessing Batwoman, Sirens and Streets well all get tpbs of their own eventually

it's interesting that Sirens will apparently be continuing the Hush/Selinda story that was running in the Detective book. is Sirens the default sequel to Heart of Hush?

I'm pretty sure the run's order is:

Detective
Death and the City
Resurrection of Ra's al Ghul
Private Casebook
Heart of Hush

I haven't read The Resurrection of Ra's, but I have not heard good things.
The rest of the run, however, (I'm in the middle of Heart of Hush) has been really great. I'm pretty new to comics, and the collected stories are probably my favorite books so far!

It was a great run. It just goes to show you don't need to build to some earth-shattering massive event that's going to change everything forever (or at least until next year when everything's back to normal).

I think my favourite issues were the ones where he used the Joker. 826 (Christmas story where he kidnaps Robin) and 833-834 (with Zatanna).

you're really missing out. don't let whiny comments on a message board or a bumpy start with other Morrison comics put you off. it's the best batman of the decade, you just have to read the whole thing starting with Batman & Son. and it gets better as you re-read it

that said, avoid Resurrection regardless. no one involved was putting in their best effort there

i might pick up the morrison stuff eventually. what have been the highlights of his run so far? is RIP better than batman and son (which i've read)? i was just going start collecting morrison's batman stuff once 'batman and robin' starts.

I recommend picking up the run. IMO, it flows quite nicely in "trade" format. I read batman and son through RIP, and I enjoyed it. The story from the RIP book itself is the highlight, as it's the climactic point of the run. It most certainly is better than Batman and Son! I liked Dini's material in Detective better, but I think Morrison's story is underrated.

this is a hard question. RIP is certainly the climax, everything builds to it. You have to read the whole run though to get a sense for why it's so good and how it all fits. the highlights for myself have been the Joker re-invention issue (Batman & Son tpb) and the overall Three Ghosts of Batman arc which starts in Batman & Son but continues into the Black Glove tpb. RIP definitely packs the biggest punch though, much better than B&Son. Read it before Batman & Robin starts and it'll just get you more psyched for when June finally arrives
