The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Director's Cut

Comedy and horror flicks always have an "extended/unrated" edition with additional footage at the time of release. I see no reason to offer a directors cut as well. Home video isn't going to change canon or confuse fans, especially when DVD/Blu Ray sales are second fiddle to streaming and digital copies these days.

Hi guys, I'm new here.:yay:

I made something last week. It includes all pictures of cut/deleted scenes we have seen in trailers, featurette and TV spot, and that you have discussed on this board :cwink:.
Actually, it's a .pdf file :whatever:, and I don't know how to upload/ share it with you.
So If anyone is interested, can you help me please :yay:. Thanks

PS: Sorry, english is not my natural language

Awesome stuff, Mirals!

I was wondering if someone got around to grabbing all the shots/footage we didn't get to see in the movie. It's actually quite depressing so much got cut. This is kind of similar to The Amazing Spider-Man. I wonder if a lot of these shots would have benefited the movie or not?

Thanks everyone :yay:
@ Blake c
It took me some time but I knew it would be useful to some:woot:.

@ Spider-knight
Totally agree. Unlike the first one, all deleted /extended scenes in TASM 2 appear to have been done on the "rough cut" in order to shorten the film of ten or twenty minutes ... like "The Wolverine".
I think the idea of a Director's cut (I prefer to say "extended cut" because it is more appropriate) is not impossible, especially since Dan Dehaan mentioned it.
And it would be great for the audience, the fans and also SONY and Marc Webb (with additional sales).:cwink:

@ Resistance61513
Thank you!
I think the cut of TASM 2 are less justified than TASM 1 ...
I also think that all would have add more depth in terms of character development and plot.

Nevertheless, I don’t understand the desire of some to re-integrate Shailene Woodley : her role was cut before the "rough cut" (which I think is the true vision of the director). Her scenes were replaced before the rough and final cut … She was no longer part of the script.

But the conclusion is the same: we need an extended cut of this movie! :woot:

I think the strongest thing the movement for a directors cut has is the fact that SevenWebHeads is behind it, Marc Webb's strong prescence on twitter and Sony's possible need to want to appease the fans to keep the spider-man brand more appealing.

Honestly I don't think we'll see Director's Cut. After all ASM1 deserves it even more and they just released some unfinished deleted scenes so...

And this is just my opinion: ASM2 is already too long so another 15 mins wouldn't make it better. I'd prefer some 'Alternative Cut' but I doubt Sony would want to release something like that.

no, with everything that happened in the amazing spiderman 2 i believe a director's cut bwould be a smart move. i mean they delayed 3 so HOPEFULLY when they continue to see what went wrong with their films and what marvel is doing and what critics and fans are saying they'll at least try to make their movies good. i also hope they fire roberto and zlex once we get a directors cut or before.

i totally agree that we need one on the amazing spiderman 1 but will we get one that's unfinished or completed?

hahhaa amazing! Here goes away all hopes of ever seeing a director's cut. When they don't care why should we care!

so we'll be getting 13 deleted scenes huh. well there's still hope for a director's cut

Peter meets his father?

I wonder are these deleted scenes gonna be a lot of thrown away alternative plots :p

Yeah, that's why they won't release any director's cut. Would just show how cringeworthy these Amazing productions really are.

what do you mean by that? Have you been on set?

A total of 13 deleted scenes.

No way they are going to have a director's cut AFTER already showing us most of the deleted stuff in this first release.

If they had no deleted scenes in this first release I would have felt they were saving them, but to spoil all the cut footage and then later integrate it back in---not gonna happen.

Hopefully there'll be some luck to get both directors cut

Anybody know of a case where they released a movie on Blu-ray with deleted scenes and then re-released the movie integrating those same scenes that had previously been part of the deleted scenes section?

i don't follow much on every movies but i'm optimistic about a director's cut

Very excited to see these deleted scenes. I didn't want a director's cut. I like the final cut being the film.
