🇺🇸 Discussion: Abortion II

US News
So glad I don't live in Idaho anymore. :(

This is what the future holds with Republican ideology in power.

I deleted my Twitter account, but Bitecofer’s recent post gives me hope for the VA elections.

All eyes are going to be on Ohio, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and to a smaller degree Mississippi tonight.

A blue wave would give me more hope for next year.

Tonight’s results in Virginia will be a good portent for 2024. If Ds still control one state House (and keep Youngkin from pushing his MAGA agenda), the House will likely flip back to Ds. If Ds win back control of House of Delegates and keep the state Senate, that’s even better.

I cringe at the very real possibility of a Republican trifecta in VA after tomorrow.

Meidas Touch reported that Andy Beshear, incumbent governor in Kentucky, has won reelection. It has not been confirmed by other outlets but Beshear made abortion a major point in his campaign.

Either way, it’s a good start for election night. Let’s see how the VA legislative results are.

Hope it's a trend that lasts the night. :)

Well, it’s getting better. Dave Wasserman announced that Ohio’s Issue 1 to enshrine abortion rights into the state constitution HAS gotten the majority of votes.

Still early for exact margin of victory but it’s likely double digits once every vote is counted for.

Democrats have retained control of the Virginia state Senate, meaning that Youngkin’s agenda is DOA— particularly the 15 week abortion ban he touted as “reasonable.”

C’mon, House of Delegates…
