šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Discussion: The DEMOCRATIC P - Part 3

US News

There’s a definite shift across the country, even before Biden dropped out. I remember a special state legislative seat election in Oklahoma earlier this year— and the Dem candidate got a lot closer than what people expect for a red state.

Don’t sleep on Florida or any other potentially swingy reddish state.

That meathead is going to be set up as the fall guy by the FL GOP if Ds win the sunshine state (or flip the Senate seat) this year.

He did nothing to address the absurdly high insurance rates (which went up 400% under his regime) and ticked off a lot of voters with his culture wars. FL Ds have been accumulating small wins over the last year and a half and they have a ton of volunteers canvassing this year.

I'm sure he's pulling some Texas shenanigans like Paxton and Abbott raiding homes of Latine Democratic voters and throwing out millions of registered voters in their rolls.

He actually did that in 2022 (over 1.3M Dems stayed home in the 2022 midterms) and with last year’s ā€œvoter roll maintenanceā€ law. Over 886K Florida Dems are on the inactive list, but they can still request a VBM ballot or vote in person to be moved back on the active list. And according to Nikki Fried, independent/unaffiliated FL voters are breaking for Ds by 65-70%.

That’s why you see Madame VP, Debbie Mucarsel Powell and Whitney Fox (challenging Loony Luna) in striking distance or leading the Republican candidates.

He's not even the worst. Sullivan and Kirby should also be looking for retirement.

Probably more of a Biden problem than anything else. His foreign policy positions are, and have been, baked in for years and he wasn't letting others make decisions on that front. That being said, yeah.....they should go.

Color me shocked.....and here I always thought that guy's (Adams) honesty was above reproach. :whatever:

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. :o

Seriously **** NYC for not picking Wiley.

80,000 volunteers have signed up with the FL Democratic Party to help GOTV efforts this fall. And Madame VP has amassed $300M just in the month of August.

As Jimmy Carter nears 100, he is buoyed by Harris’s run for president

As Jimmy Carter’s 100th birthday approaches on Oct. 1, he is talking more and delighting in the momentum behind Vice President Kamala Harris, his family said.

Former president Jimmy Carter, 99, turned to his son several weeks ago as he watched President Joe Biden, 81, announce that he was passing the torch to a younger generation. ā€œThat’s sad,ā€ Carter said softly.

Carter and Biden are friends and share much in common as members of the elite group elected to the White House. Biden is the oldest to ever serve, and Carter has lived longer than any other former president. Neither went to Harvard or Yale. Biden is the son of a used-car salesman, and Carter’s father ran a peanut farm. Now, both will be one-term presidents.

Carter has been in hospice for 18 months, and his health slipped further after his wife, Rosalynn, died in November, two members of his family said. But recently, as the former president’s 100th birthday approaches on Oct. 1, he is talking more, asking about the fast-changing 2024 presidential campaign and delighting in the momentum behind Vice President Kamala Harris, the new Democratic nominee. He is even eating mini cupcakes — red velvet and caramel are his favorites.

James Earl ā€œChipā€ Carter III said in an interview with The Washington Post that his father spent days watching all of the speeches from the Democratic National Convention last month that he recorded for him. ā€œHe thought Michelle Obama was the best, and he thought Kamala was great, too,ā€ he said.
