Yes sir. And it has been in the works for a very long time. After the North American Union is formed, expect the European Union and the North American Union to merge! (surprising, ain't it?).

That last part is what could happen. The world is already moving toward globalization so why wouldn’t the two unions merge. It would be convenient to merge the currency right?

Exactly. If we had a North American Union, who do we answer to as a Nation? We give up our Sovereignty for what? Free trade? This is ridiculas that Some people on this board are OK with the fact we would sell out! The American People need to wake up the threat of a Union. It's not going to strenghen this country!

Did you guys know that there are highways being built right now, that will span throughout North America for free trade? They've been working on them for a long while now. The powerful people/families behind the curtains have things planned out way before we see things shaping.

Why do you think there is unrest in the Middle East? It's no so much for oil as it is an attempt to spread Western/European influence. Sooner or later they will try and make countries like Iraq part of this blanketing globalization movement.

Not to bring in the candidates for the 2008 elections but I found this quote by Ron Paul to be interesting.

If a North American Union happens I really doubt that it's going to be as powerful as the European Union. Americans are far to protectionist.

Continental unions are not governments. They are intergovernmental organizations like the United Nations, NATO, the WTO, etc. Sure the European Union has things like courts and parliaments, but the governments of the member nations are still the higher power. The French still have to answer to the French government, not the European Union and so on.

Let's see, the United States would be able to compete better in an increasingly integrated world. I wouldn't have to worry about crossing the Mexican or Canadian borders. I woudn't have to pay any tariffs on Mexican or Canadian goods (which I don't thanks to NAFTA). I wouldn't have to worry about changing my currency at a bordering nation.

How would a North American Union infringe upon our rights to vote, practice religion freely, speak our minds, etc.? And once again, continential unions don't take away soverignty. The nations of Africa, Europe, and South America are still very soverign nations. They're just highly integrated with their continental neighbors.

I think people need to stop thinking as though their government cares for them. Instead, put yourselves in the shoes of the rich corporations who essentially fund Presidential candidates. No one cares about your rights anymore, it's all about centralization of power and money!

We've been on the slippery slope of eroding sovereignty for many, many years. The aims and goals of globalists are clear and one has but to look to see the means they are using. It is a process. On this very board there are bright posters who do not recognize the necessity of States Rights, seeing them only as an archaic concept rather than something that would save citizens from the intrusive Federal monster we've been discussing.

Due to being led around by the nose by this beast, we've lost sovereignty in everything from the recent UN sea treaty to having UN oversight of drilling rights in our National Parks dating back to the Carter administration.

It's something that sounds unreasonably paranoic when said outload... but you can actually witness it happening around you. Most of the bizarre specifics featured on those conspiracy websites is nonsense, but the general trend of blending or sharing sovereignty (which means individual countries losing their's) is easily observable.

The EU wrote a constitution. It is not an alliance. Just because politicians call it an alliance does not make it so. I don't recall the nations under NATO or the original Axis of Evil drafting a constitution. If reading our posts brings you such physical pain then I suggest not clicking on this thread.

The United States. A North American Union would basically be unable to stop it. If the United States were a more smaller and weaker nation like those of Eastern Europe, it would be a different story, but the United States is far too powerful. It would be more on par with France and Germany if such a union existed.
