Did anyone else hear about Chris Christie supposedly going to his son's baseball game in a state helicopter?

Anyone know if this rumor is true? I've read around the internet that Michelle Bachmann's husband went through a gay reprogramning program. You know, Where they try to tell them that they ain't really gay, That it's all in their heads or some dumb crap like that.

Anyone know anything about this?

Must be a slow news week...lmao.

Yeah, I just saw the story on CNN. It's true.

Do you know what would happen if a Dem did something like that? $25.000 to go to a kids game? The Repubs would be calling for his head.:whatever:

Accordingly, being married to Michelle Bachmann would be a form of gay re-reprogramming.

I honestly haven't heard about this. It's incredibly disturbing if true.

All I've heard so far is crickets...

Ok, I laughed. :hehe:

It's worse because Christie is fat, and they had to waste more fuel on the helicopter.

We need to tax FAT PEOPLE!!

State Police say Gov. Christie's helicopter rides are 'no additional cost to taxpayers'
State Police Superintendent Col. Rick Fuentes released a statement arguing the flights don't cost the taxpayer anything.

Fuentes said the time police pilots fly the governor count as training time.

"It is important to understand that State Police helicopters fly daily homeland security missions, and use flight time for training purposes, more so lately as we acclimate our pilots to the new aircraft," Fuentes.

Fuentes said because of this, the flights have no extra cost to the taxpayer

Doesn't matter he shouldn't be doing it even if it did not cost money. Kind of sick of the politicos who think they can go around acting like kings and queens. Like Pelosi's little "private jet".

Exactly, its the perception of it, moreso than the $$$ it costs...

And just like that, Christie's presidential ambitions are squashed. He seemed to be gearing up for a run (visiting Iowa and what not), but now it is all over. With this one stupid move, he has lost all credibility as a fiscal conservative which was his only leg to stand on. This was his Howard Dean Scream moment. He has put himself on such a high pedestal and now because of this one stupid mistake, he has fallen....hard.

Thank God for that. Our country has dodged a bullet.

Apparently the car ride in the limo was all of 100 yards. Just makes him look really bad IMHO. Not only blowing the cash on the helicopter, but also taking a car ride for 100 yards. How about walking ya fat bastard?

Yeah, Christie has lost any credibility that he had.

Republicans look bad right now complaining about demagoguery by Democrats on Medicare when Republicans used the "death panel" BS to get elected last year. I don't agree with Obama's health care plan, but there was plenty of demagoguery by Republican politicians against it. To me it looks like a bunch of people who can dish it but can't take it. Can't handle the heat? Get out of the kitchen.

Jump! Dodge a bullet and land face first into a landmine !

Yeah, you can't do this sort of thing when you are going up against the Teflon Man....just won't work out for ya...

I think that with Christie it isn't even about going up against Obama. He would have the same problem if he pulled this crap against Jimmy Carter, even. Its just that he put himself on such a high pedestal of fiscal responsibility and then not only fell off it, he leaped head first off of it.

Boy, between this and Paul Ryan's whining the GOP looks really bad today. I'd think it's funny, if I hadn't seen the stock market tumble and the discouraging jobs report. I'm now fearing for the worst, so the political points today seem less satisfying.

That's disappointing about Christie. He was one of the few Republicans in the national spotlight I actually liked a bit (maybe partly because I just hated his Democratic predecessor Corzine a lot).

The Paul Ryan Proposal Literally is the Republican version of the HCR Bill. They're even using, word-for-word, the same excuses and justifications Democrats used on HCR to talk about it's unpopularity (It's a messaging problem!) (We can't do nothing!!!!!), and in both cases make it very easy for the opposition to run against them. Kind of surprising they got caught in this trap considering they just won a big election based on HCR.

You ever notice how any time one party assumes they have some big mandate after an election...

Bush and Social Security Reform
Clinton and HillaryCare
Republicans after the 94 mid-terms
Obama and HCR
Republicans and what's happening now...

the public always ALWAYS seems to take a crap on it? The one and only time I feel the public gave a real mandate in modern times was to Bush right after 9/11, and that was foreign policy only.

You guys don't have any "mandates" no matter how big your electoral win is - it's a two party system! You only win because you're more likeable than the ONLY OTHER CHOICE AT THE TIME.
