Discussion: The REPUBLICAN Party - Part 16

This entire debate feels like the GOP is imploding. I just don't see how anyone on that stage is a viable leader in 2016.

Quite a beautiful trainwreck.

Rubio: You don't even speak Spanish.
Cruz: [speaks Spanish].

Bush: Stop dissing my brother! You're not invited to my rally, wah!

Carson: Thanks for acknowledging my existence. Now, play nice.

None of them feel Presidential that's for sure. I'd be embarrassed if any of them stood on a stage with other world leaders.

I do feel vaguely curious about what a country with Ben Carson as their President would be like.

Not in the sense that I'd actually vote for him, or believe that he even stands a chance, but I'd visit that alternate universe. :o

If I had to pick, Jeb and Kasich feel the most presidential to me, at least in terms of temperament. Rubio is honestly a pretty good debater despite his recent snafu, though it's tough for me to picture a Republican nominee so young and baby-faced.

Trump and Cruz just irritate me on that primal level, so abrasive.

Ben Carson's State of the Union addresses would cure insomnia.

Say what you want about Hitler, but the man knew how to motivate a crowd who desired a racially pure Europe. :o

I'll take Trump compliments for $200, Alex.

Probably the most surreal moment of this debate was when Rubio and Cruz went at it about illegal immigration. In Spanish.

Carson's zinger of a Stalin quote was actually incorrect. He pulled it from one of those chain e-mails that get forwarded around. I wouldn't expect any of them to worry about facts though.

I still don't like Rubio, despite how nice his ass may be. He still comes off robotic and overly-rehearsed. Kasich's plan to be "that guy who stays out of the brawl" may help him gain some support in South Carolina. Cruz is doing anything he can to win back voters it seems even attacking innocent Pinocchio who wished he would become a real boy for President, but Papa GOPeto won't let him. And Trump vs Bush was easily the most entertaining thing I've seen in a long time. I'm not sure if Jeb was able to cause Trump to stumble at all since voters seem to like how abrasive Trump becomes in these debates.

I could live with a Kasich/Rubio ticket.

You have to love the audiences in these Republican debates.

"9/11 is Clinton's fault because he didn't kill Bin Laden!"

Audience cheers.

"I wish Obama would stop blaming by brother (W Bush) and saying he inherited all his problems!"

Audience cheers.

He showed his petty partisan hack side by saying Obama shouldn't nominate a supreme court justice, because he doesn't like Obama.

That's not how I took it at all. He said that Obama should propose someone he thinks people could unite behind and has a chance of passing. But he doesn't believe Obama is willing to that, so he said it would be better off with no nominee than another fight.

It's been widely reported that the SC GOP stacked the room with big donors. Each campaign got around 100 invites. It wasn't the voting "public". Well... no, it was exactly that. The VOTING Public. Its exactly what Bernie Sanders has been talking about... voter turnout.

This how most people are taking that comment.

I do have to give Trump credit for refusing the Republican lie that Bush "kept us safe". Rubio blamed 9/11 on Clinton. He'll never get the nomination, but I wish he did. The Democrats would destroy him in a debate.

They literally booed facts last night. I mean come on. :funny:

He is right as far as the lobbyists in attendance :o Also can't believe he came out that strong against George W. Bush  The Republicans are in freak out mode I think now lol.

Because most Americans realize that Bush was a terrible president.
it could also be that Trump realizes that South Carolina is an open primary.
There will be a lot of democrats and independents voting that are not too fond of Bush at all.
