Bill Would Make It Legal to Run Over Protesters ‘Unintentionally’

North Dakota lawmakers recently introduced a bill that’d legalize running over protesters, as long as it’s an accident. Safe to say, it won’t find many supporters from anti-DAPL activists.

“Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a driver of a motor vehicle who unintentionally causes injury or death to an individual obstructing vehicular traffic on a public road, street, or highway is not guilty of an offense,” states House Bill Number 1203.

We live in the time of Trump and and Brexit.

I get that the feeling that it won't pass, even with the majorities, not just because of the backlash that Congress would get, but because there's no point to this. It looks and feels purely ideological.

We have genuine problems in this country and this is what the GOP has on the table? Come the **** on.

well to many GOPers, having the ability to get control back over a woman and tell her what to do is quite important.

I see that Paul Ryan and Marco Rubio are in a race to determine who is the most spineless.

Like Trump has ever cared about getting consent...

there are currently 21 female senators out of 100. of the 21, 16 are democrats and 5 are republican.
32% of democrat senators are women while only 10% of republican senators are women.

there are currently 84 women in the house of representatives out of 435 (192 dems, 248 rep, 1 vacant).
of the 435, 62 are democrats and 22 are republican.
32% of democrat reps are women while only 9% of republican reps are women.

why don't republicans vote for women?

Do you really not know?

(Hint, see where it's okay for a man to have 2 divorces, yet vilify a woman for her husband's transgressions)

Here is the Republicans fighting hard for the common man in South Dakota

South Dakota lawmakers declare state of ’emergency’ to force repeal of voter-imposed ethics law

Lawmakers in South Dakota are invoking emergency powers to overturn an anti-corruption law that was passed by a ballot measure during the 2016 election.

The South Dakota Government Accountability and Anti-Corruption Act makes it illegal for lawmakers to receive more than a total of $100 annually from lobbyists in the form of “any compensation, reward, employment, gift, honorarium, beverage, meal, food, or other thing of value made or given directly or indirectly.”

The law, which was passed by a majority of voters in November, immediately incited panic among state officials and lawmakers. Some resigned from their posts while others cancelled meetings with any groups represented by lobbyists.

Lawmakers who are found guilty of violating the act face $1,000 in fines and up to one year in prison.

According to a statement from the advocacy group Represent South Dakota, lawmakers are now trying to use their “emergency powers to bypass normal check and balances, and repeal America’s first statement Anti-Corruption Act.”

Why do people in this country keep voting for Republicans? I just don't understand it.

Yes, Democrats aren't perfect. But come on.

Looks like Republicans just made the Hyde amendment permanent law.

So not only are they going to force women to have unwanted pregnancies, but they will eventually cut the social programs to help said women raise those children.

Land of the free, as long as you're a white male.

The idea that Republicans actually care about abortion on a moral level is hilarious.

Being against abortion is NOT being "pro-life" when those children and their mothers can rot in the streets after being born for all you care.

You want to force pregnant women to have children whether they want them or not, but then you relentlessly do everything you can to deny them affordable healthcare and any kind of government assistance.

Which frankly puts the lie to your opposition to abortion being about the good of the child's life in the first place, and points to it being a method of controlling women, especially poor women.

Anyone who sees the moves these guys make and thinks to themselves "They just really care about saving lives" is an idiot. Point blank. It's not about saving anyone. It's about exerting control.

Oh how I would love to see the "Jesus-loving" "Party of Lincoln" come face to face with either one of those figures.

LINCOLN: "Ooh, this one looks a bit like me! What do you do, son?"
PAUL RYAN: "I pretty much let Trump go buckwild and do as he likes. Unless it's giving quality, affordable health care to the filthy poors."
LINCOLN: *under his breath* "Jesus Christ..."
CHRIST: "Don't drag me into this!"

Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it
