🇺🇸 Discussion: The REPUBLICAN Party - - - - - Part 20

US News
According to his Twitter, Senator Fain just won a "Family Values @ Work Policy Champion GameChanger Award".

Idk what that is but as usual the GOP proclaims it is the party of family values but in actuality it is the party of rape and racism.
They are also the party of hypocrisy.

Speaking of hypocrisy, here in Iowa I've been seeing Republican attack ads against the Democratic candidate for Governor, and the ad keeps harping about him not releasing his tax returns and "What is he hiding?!?!?"

There are a lot of contenders in the worst Republican contest but McConnell is top 3.

McConnell Says Outrage Will ‘Blow Over’ and GOP Takeover of Courts Will Continue

Indeed, with his dream achieved on Saturday, McConnell admitted that his whole stated premise for blocking Garland — that it was, as he once said, “about a principle, not a person” — was bull****, unless the right to take over the judicial branch by any means necessary was the principle. Asked if he would commit to not confirming a Trump nominee to the Supreme Court if another vacancy happened in 2020, McConnell replied: “We’ll see what it looks like in 2020. First, do we have a vacancy. Second, who is in charge of the Senate.”

That's how you win over the opposition. :whatever:

Clearly not. He's not about giving a damn about anyone who isn't him.

You know, when you are fighting a view of being racist, while running against a black man, it isn't a good thing to have a 7 year old book that defended slavery and attacked Thrugood Marshall. DeSantis is a pos.

I respect Merkel. She's handled the position of chancellor in Germany with honour and dignity. I'm glad she's choosing to step down of her own accord instead of being forced out by the neo Nazis making a comeback in Europe.

Merkel was a pretty bad chancelor. She got lucky that she inherited a well set up Germany from Schröder and she rode that wave until 2 years ago. Schröder pretty much had to sacrifice his own party the SPD to make reforms that should have been done a dacade earlier under Kohl. But then gaain he was just like Merkel. Lucky to be there at the the right time and space.
It were always her coalition partners that made mostly good policy. The CDU was pretty teethless that whole time and was lucky that they got credit for all the good work done by other parties. The one time she actually made a choice by herself was the time she lost the support of many Germans and it lead to the creation our new Nazi party the AfD.
I am glad she is steppng down but i am sad that the SPD is going down with her. The party that stood against Hitler when noone else would anymore. Shame that have become just a shell of their former self while in a coalition with Merkel.

But Merkel is nowhere close to the Republicans. She is what i would cosider a Democrat. The CDU is a center right party here in Germany.

Good news is that the GOP seems to finally be waking up to Steve King, actual Nazi. Way too little, way too late.

King's pretty messed up, yeah, would be pretty nice to see him out.

In a trend that is becoming depressingly common, the WI state legislature is threatening to gut the governor's powers.

That sounds like 2016 here in NC when Doofus McCrory lost to Roy Cooper. And during a secret lame-duck session, before Cooper was sworn in, the GOP did the same thing.

But now voters have broken the GOP's supermajority here in the state legislature by voting in more Democrats, so they can't override Cooper's vetoes easily now.

That sounds exactly like the **** the GOP pulls. When they can't run the government into the ground by legitimate means they find some other way to do it instead.

And apparently the White House and RNC are mad at McSally for not embracing the conspiracy theories about Dems stealing the election.

As usual the GOP only tolerates democracy when they win.

I wonder when people are going to catch on that this small government ideology the GOP claims to adhere to is a giant lie. Their ideology is intentionally contradictory, that is not an accident, it's by design. Their small government ideology is a lie, they just want to create a hierarchy where they matter more society than other people, they want special privileges for themselves, not rights for everyone. They only promote fiscal conservativism in opposition, as soon as they get into power, they spend massively on military spending and tax cuts so there will be no money left for social programs for the poor. They want giant deficits just to prevent the government from being able to spend money on social programs for the poor.

They say they promote freedom of speech for hate mongers like Milo Yiannopoulos, but not NFL protesters who oppose the police arbitrary shooting African Americans by the cops. They promote gun rights for themselves but do not care about the gun rights of people like Philando Castile. Never expect anything these guys to make sense because they lie to serve their ultimate aim of simply achieving power for themselves and only themselves.

Well they’re in league with the Christian Right whose very name is a lie as they’re diametrically opposed to Christian values and worship power and money.

Many are fiscally conservative in power, avoiding or eliminating deficits, at the state level.

To the detriment of everything else. Let's ask Brownback and Kobach how that worked for Kansas.
