5 votes on 1 decision and we are all enslaved in a single day.
Anyone else getting deja vu, can anyone say Wall-E? The CEO of Buy N Large was the president of the United States in that film, anyone ready for that in our reality?

I went to bed the night before upset about politicians and their campaign contributions and how they are bought and sold. Today I woke up to hear this news, to be honest I find it infuriating. Some politicians are in with the insurance companies, others with the oil companies, playing ball willingly or black mailed. Anyone who thinks all of this is about the left or the right are idiots. The real bad guys in this world are the families and corporations, and organized crime institutions that believe they have the rights to rule the world, and see us as their slaves, and who don't care about anything else but their own power and greed, and their status quo. This whole devision in politics is what these families and powerful institutions want, divide us to conquer us! So they make up stories about Socialism, while being backed by major corporations, despite their knowledge that the enemy has been brain washing them all along to support their agendas to make these corporations/families/crime syndicates more powerful and corrupt. Also scaring up Americans so people willingly give up their freedoms and their common sense.

The question should be though is McCain Fiengold actually unconstitutional? I think the majority is right, preventing members of companies, organizations, unions, to fund campaign ads violates First Amendment right to free speech. The bill targets specific organizations and then ties their hand behind their back in ability to communicate. Its all fine and dandy to villify Corporate CEOs, but what constitutional basis is there to bar them to create a campaign ad?

Well thanks to the Right Wing Neo-Con "Justices", Rupert Murdoch and his Fox "News" Corp will be able to legally buy a seat in congress.

So much for Democracy, It was nice while it lasted.:whatever:

News media corporations were already exempt under the campaign finance law, including McCain/Feingold. In fact, that news media corporations were granted special exemptions while other corporations were restricted formed part of the basis of the majority opinion.

So, nothing changed for your hated FoxNews and Rupert Murdoch with this ruling. :whatever:

The question was, should corporate entities enjoy the same rights as living, breathing human beings? Yesterday, the right wing of the SCOTUS ruled "yes." Just think of the implications of that. How is this going to change American politics?

Um, no....this legislation has nothing to do with them...they aren't a part of it.

I always find myself vastly surprised by the age some people continue service to. I'm also somewhat surprised they allow them to serve to that age.

I'm sort of curious who would replace him.

Let's hope the SC kicks Phelps' proverbial butt.

I have my doubts on weather that will happen or not. If the protest goes on outside of private property, they are within their rights to protest so long as they have a permit to demonstrate and the demonstration is peaceful. I am assuming that this was the case in the Westboro Baptist Case.

It absolutely makes me sick when these people enlist their children to spread a message of hate.

I had no idea that they were actually ordered to pay 5 Mil to begin with. That's insane. I can't believe that the marine's family was awarded damages because someone protested at their child's memorial services...

As hateful as the Westboro Baptist church is they shouldn't have to pay for pissing people off or hurting someone's feelings.

What happens when other groups have to start paying money when they piss people off? When the KKK protests a new community center in the inner city? When PFLAG protests an outspoken anti-gay Church? When the minority party protests the majority party?

What happens? I continue on with my life.

Because I don't care if a particular group has to pay 5 million bucks because they wanted to protest a damn funeral?

oh well.

What Addendum cares about is reading on here how much he doesn't care....*smiles*

All I care about is paying my bills on time so I can have power in my apartment and a car that's legal to drive to work so I can get paid.
