Discussion: The UK Election Thread

Haha, yes they somehow actually have managed to do that. :woot:

I'm surprised that Boris' indecision hasn't been the bigger thing than it was... clear to me that he saw a political move in which side of the debate he went & he chose Leave for that reason alone.

The Conservatives have announced a shortlist of three people in the battle to be the party's London mayoral candidate in 2020

Shaun Bailey, Andrew Boff and Joy Morrissey are the candidates.

Morrissey is a American born former actress and current Ealing Councillor. She speaks Chinese and Albanian.

Boff has contested the Conservative nomination for the London mayoral elections in 2000, 2004, and 2008. Boff came second in 2000 and 2008. Boff is openly gay and a libertarian.

Bailey is a former youth worker Special Adviser to the Prime Minister David Cameron on Youth and Crime. Bailey is very anti-liberal (which is going to be a problem for his mayoral bid in a more left leaning city like London)

It seems like Eddie Izzard isn't going to run against Sadiq Khan who is going for a second term.

So Khan is going to blame the sharp rises in violent crimes on nothing but Westminster cuts rather than his poor management.

Bailey is the only one that Khan for sure would beat
