Are you kidding....????? You really feel like you need to know all that our military does? Really?
Our military cannot tell you everything, our state department cannot tell you everything....that is just ridiculous. They would not be as effective if they did, and the fact that you feel you need to know all, tells me you really know nothing of how they must work to get done what we need, and keep us safe. But, my thinking is, you are now arguing just to argue, with little meat in it.
You know what puts people's lives in danger, threatens our national security, and undermines our efforts to work with other countries to solve
shared problems more than some website releasing gossipy secret text messaging conversations between high-ranking officials?
1. War.
2. The occupation of formerly sovereign nations without any measurable progress towards an end that benefits all involved parties.
3. The invasion of countries for reasons unclear or patently false.
4. The refusal to issue a forthright admission of fault in launching said invasions.
5. The continued presence of an military presence in countries with whom we're supposedly trying to foster non-violent and diplomatic relations.
6. The non-stop financial infusion of the American defense budget, turning the message of "we'll lay down our sword, you lay down yours and we'll discuss the matter" to "don't mess with the bull or you get the horns."
7. The presence of both our soldiers, who will always, not through their own fault, be seen as "the infidel," in a part of the world where such a presence is seen as one of the most egregiously aggressive acts possible.
8. The misguided insistence that we know more about other cultures than they know about themselves.
All of these things are a far greater threat more likely to send us to early graves than a god damn website.
