Discussions on the Exclusive Footage shown at Consumer Electronics Show [Merged]

See, as much as the last 2 spidey movies dissapointed, I'm completely stoked for sm3. This fight scene appears to be incredible. I wonder if spidey and another figure crashing through an office building and its windows is part of this sequence?

Just saw extended peek at SpiderMan 3
Sony is showing some exclusive footage of Spider-Man 3 at CES this year. I got in on the first show (only two shows per day), and had to come back to the room to post about it. Holy. Crap. It would appear that these shots are in sequence, but they’ve cut out a lot of the filler in between each scene.

It starts out with a shot of a bridge, then the camera pans up to reveal Peter Parker and MJ in the big web (like what you see in the trailer). There’s some dialog exchanged between the two of them, the point of it being that they are very much in love. The next scene, Peter is talking to his aunt and tells her that he wants to marry MJ. Aunt May tells Peter about the time Ben proposed to her, and how special that moment was. She talks about the ring Ben gave her, then gives the ring to Peter and tells him to make his proposal to MJ just as special.

Cut to Peter driving his scooter through the city. He looks just as awkward on it as he did in the last film. Suddenly, a glider and its rider (Harry) come swooping out of the sky and nail Peter in the back, swooping him up off of his scooter and into the sky. Harry has on some Batman like outfit (which you see in the trailer) and a mask over his face. He slams Peter into the side of a building (again in the trailer), where Peter stays, apparently knocked out for a moment. Harry’s mask peels back (like the masks in the Stargate movie) to reveal his face. He accuses Peter of killing his father and guns the glider straight for him. Peter comes to his senses and barely gets out of the way before Harry’s fist buries into the wall where Peter just was. Apparently this suit gives Harry some amazing power. Peter tells Harry how his father really died, but Harry’s not hearing any of it.

The next couple of minutes (maybe less, but it seemed that long) show Harry pretty much owning Peter’s butt during the fight. There’s some amazing shots in this fight scene, and it’s nothing like what we’ve seen in the other two movies. Peter is swinging Spidey style but without the costume. He’s trying to avoid Harry but at the same time tossing a few punches of his own. Harry seems to stay one step ahead of Peter, grabbing him at one point and flying along side a block of buildings, smashing Peter’s head through the bricks as he goes. At one point, Peter loses the ring his Aunt gave him (the slow motion show in the trailer where he reaches for the ring) and before he can grab it Harry is on him again, tossing him around like a rag doll. Peter gets enough shots back in that he can swing down and snag the ring before it’s had a chance to hit the ground. He lands on a building, looks down into his clutched hand ans sees that he grabbed the ring. Just then Harry is back on him, and the chase continues. Peter swings down a narrow alley to try and shake Harry. No luck. Harry kicks his glider sideways (like a snowboard) and stays close. Peter dives through some pipes that, for some reason, run between the buildings on either side. Harry pops some bombs out of his glider and tosses them at Peter. These bombs are new, I believe, as they have wings on them and chase Peter through the alley. Peter turns, says something along the lines of, “I really hate those things!” and starts to gob them with webbing. He snags one of the bombs and tosses it back at Harry, where it impales him in the shoulder. While he takes a split second to yank it out, Peter shoots a “clothes line” web and when Harry looks up, it’s too late. He nails the line of web and it knocks him off his glider. He falls quite a distance, smashing his head against one or two of those big pipes, bounces off a dumpster and lays motionless on the ground. Peter lands near him, and yells Harry’s name. No response. He steps closer and does the same thing. Again, no response. He gets right up next to Harry and can tell Harry is in trouble. He rips open Harry’s outfit and starts to perform CPR, screaming Harry’s name the whole time.

Absolutely freakin’ amazing scene. That one fight scene was better than any other fight scene in either of the other two movies. If the rest of the film is half as good as this one scene was, this movie will be even bigger and better than the other two. I’m going to hold off saying that for certain, as we only got to see a few minutes of the whole thing. But WOW! There was a spot or two where I could be very critical of the green/blue screen work they did, but not enough to ruin the scene as a whole. I may go back and see if I can get in tomorrow, just to see it again.

I would be mildly surprised if this shows up on YouTube. Before they would let us into their theater, they took all cell phones and cameras. Before the show started, a Sony rep stood before the crowd and informed us that this was property of Sony, that it was under copyright and any duplication or recording would be illegal. Also, if we saw the person sitting next to us trying to record it, to let their security people know.

Damn, now that's a DETAILED description.:wow:

His fist hit bricks and he didn't even say OUCH...I think someone's been at that Goblin Juice. :o

No, and it won't be, unless someone got pass Sony's security guys and recorded it unknowingly...it has happened before, we'll see.

Holy moly! :spidey:

I'm guessing this scene....

is this....
The next sequence was by far the best fight out of all the films. Peter is riding on his scooter when all of a sudden, Harry Osborn snatches Peter up into the sky on his flying jet propelled snow board.

Found some pics of the event. For those wondering if the footage will be online soon, this will answer your question.

Besides the footage it looks like they were also showing the trailer on the Sony tvs that are on display.

Interesting, it sounds like Pete is not yet under the effects of the symbiote when he fights Harry.

I'm Confused...this guys doesn't mention the scene we're pete is thrown through the office window and out the other side, but this guy did??..."'Patrick' got a chance to see the footage and sent us this spoiler-filled report:

I just got back from the CES convention in Las Vegas and got to see the Amazing Spider-Man 3 clip. Those 5 minutes have me so excited for the release of Spider-Man 3. The first shot was of Peter and Mary Jane on a web gazing up at the stars and talking about the future. We then cut a scene with Aunt May telling Peter how Uncle Ben proposed to her many years ago. She then pulls out her ring and gives it to Peter to give to MJ. The next sequence was by far the best fight out of all the films. Peter is riding on his scooter when all of a sudden, Harry Osborn snatches Peter up into the sky on his flying jet propelled snow board. They battle it out above and though the city, never once allowing the audience to breathe. Harry blames Peter for his father's death and launches Peter deep into a brick building. They break away still fighting when Peter then gets tossed in a window and then out. The fight continues with a chase down between the buildings where we get to see the pumkin grenades, that sounded so very cool when they are activated. Peter even states "I hate those things" and is able to use his webbing and fling one back at Harry, piercing him in the shoulder. The fight is stopped when Peter uses his web to clothes line Harry, which drops his head onto a pipe, then bouncing off a dumpster and finally landing in the alley. Peter yells to Harry to see if he is concious. When he doesn't move, Peter performs CPR screaming out Harry's name.

...is that scene in the film?

By the way...after reading about this scene, i could really go for a wicked cool Goblin poster 'eh?!

SM3 will be the best Superhero movie ever made.FF 2 will be very good too.Im very excited about seeing both movies:hyper: .

Sounds awesome, but we will probably never see it until may 4th:csad:

Interesting to compare both. :sym:
