Action-Adventure Disney Talking ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ Reboot With ‘Deadpool’ Scribes Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick

I thought Dead Man’s Chest was fun garbage but At World’s End was abysmal. From that eyesore of a scene with a hundred Jack Sparrows to whatever that meeting of the Pirate Justice League was to that boring whirlpool action sequence, I thought that movie was a straight-up dud that killed any interest that I had left. I couldn’t believe they kept making them after that.
Davy Jones and the Kraken were the highlights of Dead Man's Chest. Then they kind of get brushed to the side in the last one.

My two biggest disappointments about At World's End were that the Kraken got killed off screen unceremoniously and none of the other ships joined in the battle at the end, rendering them pointless. I think the producers or writers went on record and said that they couldn't do the latter because it would have ballooned the budget even more than it was.

That makes sense.

But there’s so much weird stuff happening in At World’s End that has no business in a mainstream four-quadrant movie that I can’t help but love it. And yes, that includes the multiple Jack Sparrows with hundreds of crabs,

Verbinski was given a blank creative check and really used it.

Oh, and Hans Zimmer’s score is one his absolute best.

Zimmer's work on At World's End is firmly in my top three scores of his. That man was locked all the way in when he composed that.
