Disney to bring Cinderella back in live action

It doesn't really matter if the trailer gives away the movie when everyone knows the story anyway. Maleficent was an exception because they took the story in a completely different direction. This one just looks to be a by-the-book live action remake not unlike 101 Dalmatians.

All just looks a bit too 'been there done that'. Far too sugary.

I feel the same way. I have no desire to see this. Plus, the animated version always bored the hell out of me anyway.

If Linda Woolverton had her way, Tremaine would've been wicked because she was abused as a child then would've redeemed herself at the end by helping Cinderella get to the ball with Prince Charming only getting 5 minutes of screentime.

I'm struggling a little at the production design. Specifically the costumes. Some are very chic and modern, others seem to be a little confused. In some of the scenes the environments seem very lackluster and real while the costuming is very loud. I'm loving it and hating it at the same time.

Funny, they change up the ending and decide to spoil it...

wow that was a great trailer, and Haley Attwell as Cinderella's mother awesomeness!

I don't know if Kenneth Branagh was trying to emulate a more hyper-realistic look while paying homage to the animated film... but it doesn't work, especially with the pastel costumes. The look reminds me of Mirror Mirror.

Walt Disney Animation Studios’ all-new short Frozen Fever, which welcomes Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf back to the big screen, will open in theaters on March 13, 2015, in front of Disney’s Cinderella, a live-action feature inspired by the classic fairy tale.

Directed by Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee, and produced by Peter Del Vecho and Aimee Scribner, with an all-new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, “Frozen Fever” marks the first project reuniting the Oscar-winning original team from Disney’s Frozen.

In Frozen Fever, it’s Anna’s birthday and Elsa and Kristoff are determined to give her the best celebration ever, but Elsa’s icy powers may put more than just the party at risk.

Worried that you won’t be able to wait for the Spring? Our Ultimate Frozen Trivia Quiz will have you re-watching Frozen again and again to get all the details down, which should get you part of the way there.

Frozen Fever will be in theaters on March 13, 2015. You can see a trailer for the live-action Cinderella right here.

I figured they were gonna stick it on this.

How are Hayley Atwell and Stellan Skarsgard in this? I thought they're already Peggy Carter and Eric Selvig? :o

I look forward to the day when we get Marvel's Cinderella. They're taking over everything. :o

There has to be a way of making Disney Princesses into an actual franchise. Maybe magical time travel or something. The money that would generate would make the MCU look like an indy festival film.

Only if they make Elsa and Anna Disney Princesses as well.

I actually would like to see a live action adaptation of Frozen. Doesn't have to be the same story at all but just a different adventure for the two sisters.

Aren't Elsa and Anna Disney Princesses?

Well technically they are princesses in a Disney production, but "Disney Princess" is an official franchise, and you have to be formally inducted into their hall of fame.

There are only 11 Disney Princesses at the moment (no means an exhaustive list of all princesses who have appeared in a Disney production). These are:

  1. Snow White
  2. Cinderella
  3. Aurora
  4. Ariel
  5. Belle
  6. Jasmine
  7. Pocahontas
  8. Mulan
  9. Tiana
  10. Rapunzel
  11. Merida

So Elsa and Anna could become Disney Princesses in the near future, but as of the moment, they're not officially ones.

I think it's pretty certain they will, it's likely they're just waiting around on that for marketing reasons.

Yeah, they show them in art and other forms with the others all the time. They are in everything but name only.

Mulan shouldn't be called a princess. She isn't descended from royalty and she doesn't marry into it. But I guess that's being picky...

I saw the third trailer and it actually made me a little more interested. It's not a straight adaption of the animated film like I thought it was. Cate Blanchett looks to be a fun villain but i wanted her for Cruella in her upcoming film.

I didn't think much about this until I saw the trailer. Now I'm a little more interested.

Variety and THR's reviews of Cinderella have been positive. That's good, since the trailers haven't been doing the film itself any favors.

One review mentions that two songs from the animated film -- "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" and "Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo" -- play during the end credits. Yes, Lily James and Helena Bonham Carter sing them.
