Because we don't have a Hunks thread anymore

Lord. :o

Yeah I miss the hunks thread :(

Can't wait for this though. I wonder what's next? Is it the little mermaid? The beauty and the beast one seems to be the one getting all the casting details atm so maybe it's not?

I would like a live action little mermaid but they need to change that ending because even as a kid I thought it was a bizarre change

Alice has a sequel coming next year. And then I'd guess Beauty and the Beast will be 2017.

Beauty and the Beast is coming out in 2016 (according to IMDB), unless it gets pushed back for some reason. It makes sense that it would come out late next year since they've already cast half the characters.

Well Beauty and the Beast is coming like people said but Disney is also doing the Jungle book Next year as well.

I won't front, I'd like to see a CG Bambi.

I could see Beauty and the Beast around November/ Christmas it seems move a Winter Holiday Movie to me if anything.

Actually, I just checked Disney's slate for late 2016. It's pretty packed already. Beauty and the Beast could be a March release much like Cinderella.

Opened to $70m. Disney is about to have a legendary year. Both in terms of quality and money.

This is true they have a busy Schedule next year. I think right now they have 10 Movies in their schedule in 2016. Right now they have only 6 in 2017

Beauty and the Beast starts filming in May. Have no idea how long the production is going to be. Probably why they haven't released a date yet. I hope I don't have to wait until 2017 too see Emma as Belle.

I think the actual will be more like 68.5-69 million but still a really good opening for Cinderella. I hope it has the legs to reach 200 million.

Good to see it opening well. $200 Million would be a solid finish for this, it would help B&TB too.

is the exact country ever defined in Cinderella?

I was under the impression the Disney animated film is set in France but the original story is of an unknown origin, but likely either French, Italian or German. Going on this, the film references French and Italian as foreign languages, so perhaps it's meant to be Germany.

I'm willing to bet money that Disney will date B&TB for March 10, 2017. The second weekend in March is a good luck charm for their fairy tale/live-action remakes. Cinderella's success in the same spot as Alice and Oz guarantees Disney will use it again.

I loved it! Blanchett was venomous, the costumes and sets were beautiful, and it was nice to see Ms. Bonham Carter looking so gorgeous.

Just saw this, such a charming film. Blanchett was awesome as expected, as was Carter (though I expected her to have more than one scene). I've never seen Lily James before and while I did feel like she was a bit over-the-top with her mannerisms, she was otherwise quite good in the lead. Richard Madden still doesn't do anything for me, but he made for a decent Prince Charming I suppose. There were also fewer distracting camera angles than I've come to expect from Branagh, lol.

Overall, a wonderfully traditional re-telling of a classic. 8/10.

EDIT: I just found out I left to soon and missed this song in the end credits:

Kinda makes me wish they would have done the musical version.

This was done very well. Branagh was a great choice to direct this. The cinematography was great, there was an ethereal look to the whole film that gave it a fairy tail look. My daughter absolutely loved the film, this is a great live action compliment to the classic animated version.

I'm not a big fan of live action musicals. I was super happy the film wasn't a musical to be honest.

I saw this on Friday. I was making a joke about James' eyebrows being distracting but she was really charming in this roll. Overall, I liked this adaption. Solid 8 movie.

It is because you have no soul. Beauty will rule all!!!!

:highfive: Even more excited for that one now. If they can make me love a retelling of a film I'm pretty "meh" on, I cannot wait for a retelling of one of my favourites. :woot:
