Disney XD Viewers: Anyone Watching?

^^^ Good. Soon the answer will be revealed. Season 3!!!!
I can almost gaurantee we'll be getting a season 3 after season 2. Why? Because I think/know the people who haven't seen season 2 yet are going to be BLOWN away by it. Come on, we all know how amazing season 2 was.

Hmm. Good point. Hopefully this will be true and this is not fallacious reasoning.

I love my vocab.

SSM's on right now. I just heard Eddie yell "HEY, BRO! YOU COST ME MY JOB!" lol, I was listening to music, and I was like, holy crap, it's on!

Just felt like sharing...

Okay, quick question, very easy: What makes this show great?

Pros- The voice choices, story choices (ie. Colonel-spores, Patch, Blackie Gaxton.) The acting (ie. Doctor Octopus, Venom, Green Goblin, even Rhino, Electro and Vulture.) I used to hate Green Goblin and Rhino, but next to Venom and Doc Ock they're also my favorite Villains, mostly due to their voices and acting. They also make Spider-Man move smooth and sleek as he probably would in real life.

Cons.- The whole brain-over-brawn thing will get old REAL. They have poor Spidey's butt kicked by every new villain he comes across. Green Goblin I don't mind, heck, I'd encourage to continue to over-power Spidey, he didn't do so hot in the movie. Venom, Rhino, Colonel Jupiter and Lizard I didn't mind, but Silver Sable, Vulture, FANCY DAN?! Lets see more brawn like in 'Destcutive Testing' for once Spidey kicked some serious ass.

FANCY DAN?!

Well in the show's defense, Fancy Dan didn't really start to kick ass until he was wearing the shocker-style suit as Ricochet. He gave a valiant effort but still got his ass whupped in his first unassisted outing.

Yes, but in the Vault episode he litteraly kicks Spidey's butt until Black Cat steps and out martial-arts Fancy Dan.

Apparently, people are watching.

From the Season 3: S&S Thread:
Good News People. Greg just posted this on his site:

Spidey Ratings

Folks at Sony are feeling pretty good about Spidey's recent ratings on Disney XD. Here's some info...

Returning to its regular time period, THE SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN "Nature vs. Nurture" delivered a season high 1.71 B6-11 Rtg, up +67% from its season average (1.02).

The 18-episode marathon on 5/25/09 improved significantly over the time period's prior 4 week average… +279% in B6-11 Rtg, +250% in B6-14 and +226% in B9-11.

Second Season episodes will begin airing Monday 06/22/09. Check local listings for times.

Yep, that is great news! Season three is looking more likely! :)

That's Greg Wiesman's post from his "ask Greg" blog, stating that Sony is getting encouraged at SPECTACULAR SPIDER-MAN's rise in ratings lately on Disney XD, especially after the marathon. Season 2 episodes start in about two weeks, none of which have aired in North America yet. Others have posted this but that's the direct link to the source post.

Considering Sony wants SPIDER-MAN 4 on the big screen by 2011 and that animation can take a while, they will likely want to maintain Spider-Man's presence on the small screen. Rather than going through the motions of creating a new show from scratch, simply funding or getting Disney to fund a third season that already has a stable cast and crew (beyond whoever is doing other projects now) should seem cost effective. And hopefully a better option than just re-running 26 episodes for the next two years.

How is Spidey easily kicking every new villains butt any less boring?

When did Vulture kick Spidey's butt?

As for Fancy Dan, are you referring to their first encounter? If so then he certainly didn't kick Spidey's butt and any advantage shown can easily be put down to Spidey being new to the super hero, not being a trained fighter and not encountering a professional mercenary in those first 2 months as a super hero.

Yea dread it would be better to keep this quality show going and when sm4 comes in two yrs to cash in on this show and the film and all that.

^Another reason why Sony should greenlight a season three. ;)

well with the good news from greg with the dxd ratings maybe we will get the call at the end of the month when season 2 finally airs here in usa.

I'll be curious how the DVD set of Season 1 sells. The buyers who are actually smart and knew to wait on the season set will likely lap it up, and by the time it releases, several Season 2 episodes will have aired and the audience may be in a tizzy. That likely may help. Season sets are the norm in live action TV shows and it is about time cartoon shows learned that lesson, since they are increasingly being bought by the same audience (young adults).

some good news!
Greg Weisman has posted a note on his Ask Greg website. He says that Spectacular Spider-Man is doing great on it’s new home at Disney XD. Some of the ratings are up 279% in some timeslots.
Greg also mentions that Disney will start season two of the show on June 22nd so set your DVR’s. If you’re a Nielsen household, say you’ve watched it twice.

Yeah, it seems Season 2 will start June 22nd (less than a month) and as those episodes haven't aired "officially" in the U.S. yet it is likely that those will be more important in terms of ratings to Disney XD. Hopefully they promote the show well. Frankly neither they or Kid's WB have really done that; a quick McDonald's toy line isn't much.

On the contrary Kids WB did a hell of a job promoting The Spectacular Spider-Man, they hyped it up the wazoo before it even debuted. There's a post I made on here, showing how much effort was put into hyping it. But I can't remember where it is, but Disney XD hasn't even done a fraction of the job hyping Spidey that Kids WB did.
