The 5th one won't be on there until December, but it is pretty annoying. Especially since I just started to go throught the POTC films the other day and they take the 4th one off?So Disney+ started taking movies off the service already, among them The Sandlot and Home Alone 1 & 2. The most puzzling removal is Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, since all of the other POTC films are still on there.
I expected them to start removing content eventually (even though unlike Netflix they own all content that they stream on the service), but not less than two months in.
Loved that movie growing up and it's John Candy's last film, so it's extra special. I'll have to check it our again soon
Because of "legacy deals" whatever that meansWait why are they removing movies? Was there a streaming rights issue?
Because of "legacy deals" whatever that means
Which is why I buy whatever I can on Blu-ray or DVD.
I hope they don’t touch Marvel and Star Wars
Yeah, it’s definitely frustrating but I doubt they did this of their own accord. They probably had no choice due to licensing and will be doing everything to ensure that consumers get as good an experience as possible. Disney are betting big and taking a lot of risk on Disney +.Yep, I do typically buy my favorite movies and shows on blu-ray, I own all the MCU films on blu-ray/4K and most of the recent ones on digital as well, but it's a little frustrating removing like the 4th film in a Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Especially when 4/5 will likely be on there at the end of the year when the 5th film can be added to Disney+
What would that mean? Not having access to all Disney material all the time? That would make getting the app a lot less appealing for me. If it had everything all the time then I would sign up for life and be loyal. With this method I would probably sign for a month at a time when I was particularly free and go on a binge, while keeping my Netflix running permanently instead. Being able to do complete digital marathons wherever I am is one of the things I want from these services.I fully expect them to implement the "Disney Vault" method once Disney+ is fully operational.
I wanted the whole MCU and Star Wars to be permanently on there so I could start a full marathon at any time. The full classic Disney and Pixar slate would have been great too but I wouldn’t mind as much if it were rotated. If there’s anything missing from the marathon stuff though it’s not really the same. I understand for material they don’t have the license to like Spidey or TIH, but if they do it strategically then I won’t be a loyal customer.I imagine it will mainly apply to movies.
