‘The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse’ Animated Shorts Coming to Disney+

Oh boy! Disney+ has just announced that the new crop of Mickey Mouse shorts, which initially debuted on the Disney Channel in the spring of 2013, will continue on the streaming platform. This time around they’ll sport a new name, The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse, with the first installment premiering on Mickey’s birthday, November 18. We cannot wait.

This is awesome. I love them so much. They are rather cute, plus my favorite designs for Mickey, Minny, Daisy and Donald. Hobo Goofy is pretty scary though.

What. My mom shares a birthday with Mickey Mouse and never told anyone??! Clearly she didn't want to be overshadowed. Her big sister has a Christmas birthday, so...she knew the risk.

NGL, I love that Disney still sees value in animated shorts. Some of my earliest memories as a kid are of those Chip & Dale vs. Donald Duck shorts they did. I loved those so much.

tbh those Mickey Mouse shorts look like Ren & Stimpy, but not the Mickey Mouse I grew up with.
One can argue, that times are changing, but then again the new DuckTales look not so different to the original from the 80ies...

It's actually made to look like the actual original Mickey Mouse cartoons from the 1920/30s.



And, to be honest, these shorts are pretty damn great. Probably the best since his golden years.

To be fair, there have been a lot of differeny Mickey's over the years. I personally adore the latest version. He's just the cutest thing, same with all his pals outside of Goofy. Also the first proper Mickey ride looks adorable because of it imo:

They only gave it to Canada for a limited time before they take it away and fold it into Crave. The stuff of nightmares...

The Mickey we've been getting since 2013 is the GOAT. Not the big lame-o from my childhood. That guy is why I always preferred Goofy and Donald.

Going back to the original Mickey stuff for inspiration was the best thing that's happened to the character.
