Didn't Ariel grow up in the sequel?

Yes, the sequel is actually pretty decent. It's certainly one of the better DTV Disney sequels. The ironic thing about Ariel in the sequel is that she started to kind of act like her father did in the first movie. She became so paranoid about her daughter's safety that she didn't allow her to go into the see and was overprotective, just like her dad was in the first film. She was doing essentially the same thing to her daughter that she complained about her dad doing to her when she was younger. Her husband even pointed this out to her at one point.

For me Pocahontas is still the hottest, probably because she's clearly older than the other female characters. Rapunzel is hot though, she looks like a girl I have a crush on. lol. Jasmine is up there though. If I were an animated character..... :hehe:

I always found it hilarious Prince Whatisface was unsure about Ariel. Here's this hot chick who falls madly in love with him and he's like 'She's nice and all, but there might be someone better out there for me'. #idiot. I must say I love the animation of Ariel, she's clearly based of a young Alyssa Milano.

According to Buzzfeed.com, these are the official ages of the Disney princesses. Tiana and Cinderella are the oldest. And surprisingly enough, Pocahontas is the same age as Rapunzel. But I think the ages of Jasmine and Snow are what surprises me the most.

So young and yet already in dresses like that and ready to marry O_O

Well, a lot of them are from either Classical or Medieval times, so marrying young was not at all uncommon. I'm surprised that Sophia isn't there as well.

Yeah, but i'm also focusing on the way they are marketed. Either way most don't reall know their age, as shown here some even though characters like Pocahontas were older

Out of all of the films I've never thought that any of the female characters were that young, I'm actually super surprised is there any actual reference to this to confirm it's correct?

I never really thought about their ages to tell the truth, though some make sence and i'm not really surprised by them, while others like snow white are real surprises, i think most of them were mention either in their movies or in production notes. I for example thought the movie said Rapunzel was 17.

Mulan's age was actually mentioned in the movie itself I think. Jasmine's might have been as well.

Buzz feed is wrong about Pocahontas, I've got the special edition DVD and they creators specifically mentioned that she was in her early 20's compared to the other girls. In fact they're wrong about half the girls ages. (Disney nerd here lol)

Buzzfeed got it from Disney Wikia. Not sure how accurate that is. Who else do you think they are wrong about?

Well I know who they got right, Snow White, Rapunzel, Aurora, Cinderella and Ariel, only because I believe their age is mentioned in their respective films. I'm pretty certain Belle is meant to be 18 or 19 (more likely the latter). I don't know where they got 15 for Jasmine but I know she's older than that. Tiana I believe is about right. Only one I'm not sure about is Mulan, I'd have to watch the special edition DVD again to find out.

Girls sure looked older back in the olden days.

Related question are both girls in Frozen going to added to the lineup of ladies?

Probably. Mulan technically ISN'T a princess (she married a military officer, not a prince) yet she's on the list.

The Disney Wikia says so, but I'm not sure. I also only see one Prince being added from Frozen, and that's the Kristoff guy.

Disney is ageist. We need a 70 year old princess in the next movie.

If she looks like Helen Mirren I'm all for that.

A 70 year old princess who was once a young girl, but her witch of a mother sucked most of the life out of her in order to make herself younger and remain queen. Now she has to come up with a way to kill her mother, regain her youth and take the crown. That would send a great family message. :o

A 70 year old princess with dementia would be sexy.

You can't beat this.

Damn...I need to get the Diamond Edition. The colors look stunning.

And of course so does Ariel. Like many here, Ariel and Jasmine were first "crushes" before I even knew what a crush was.

In any event, I never realized that Blu-ray could make hand drawn pop that much more. Sigh. As great as Frozen appears to be from reviews, I still know my inner 5-year-old wishes it had the warmth of aesthetic as something like this.

that almost sounds like the original fairytale story which a Disney movie would be based off of ( with the obvious Disney modifications, of course ).......lol
