I feel like I always have this concern with animated movies I'm looking forward to, but then the families turn out in droves to see them, so the concerns always turn out to have been unfounded. I think it's just because they know what demo to market to, and it's not mine, so the marketing eludes me, lol.

I'm kind of concerned about the seemingly sparse marketing.........

but then I guess I'm not watching the right places.

hopefully people are aware of this film and it does well critically and BO wise.

If you have kids, you are seeing the marketing. My 3 yo is well aware of the Olaf and the snowman.

New "Frozen" World of Color segment with "Let It Go" for Winter Dreams at Disneyland Resort.

Not really good quality, but it's better than nothing. And I'm literally dying of excitement! :wow:

Disney hammers the moms/parents with kids. Moms/parents with kids go and watch movie, they rave about it to their non-parent friends. Slam dunk. :)

cue Circle of Life music.

I think this film looks horrible......does that mean i'm dead inside?

Well me and my fellow artists think this movie looks recessive and cheap looking, but hey if it hits its emotional points correctly and has good songs that compliment that, it will probably be liked by the masses.

When i learned it wasn't going to be 2D anymore and that the plot was going to be vastly different from the original story, plus the shoe horned Olaf i thought the same, but from what i hear now it seems like it's going to be amazing, so i'm quite excited

Ya know I have seen so many people not impressed with the trailer (its too slapstick/too goofy). But the trailer is not for us, its for the kids.

I kind of felt the same way, too.

but it was the "Elsa" trailer that really sold me. That was the first time the film really resonated with me.

No, I wasn't impressed by any of the trailers, either. The only reason I'm so excited for it now is because the buzz for it has been off-the-charts fantastic. And the bootlegs of the music that leaked were great.

The same here, though i didn't listen to any of the bootleg songs or read the script, i don't want to be spoiled for this one

I like the look of everything except the characters. They just look like models ripped from the Tinkerbell and Tangled movies.

I think the movie looks good and will be good. But they didn't go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to the animation, as it were. It's competent designs but it's so weird that something from Beauty and the Beast dance hall scene still wows me. Or something from Laika's stop motion. Or Studio Ghibli.

When CGI gives you endless possibilities, we kinda get desensitized. That's when you have to amp it up and give us something different visually.

I've read the screenplay, too.

so based on just the story, I'm interested.

and of course the main character I'm interested in is Elsa.

Quick Disney question:

How long does it take from the time the film is officially greenlit to the announcement of a voice cast?

Just got back from Thor.........didn't see the trailer.........:(

just got a short mini message at the beginning of the previews to tell people to see Frozen.....lol

"Frozen" is a case of strong creative alchemy, where everything works together just right, in ways they probably couldn't have imagined. It is a beautiful film, a well-designed and richly-rendered fairy tale reality, and character design comes together particularly well. I recently saw an animated film from an indie studio -- I won't say which -- where the entire enterprise was hindered by poor character design. It was so visually unappealing that I couldn't see past it. It is a genuine pleasure to watch something as lush as this, and the character work on a visual level is just impeccable.

I think the forest chase looks quite beautiful. And while I agree we might be a bit desensitized, we did just live through a decade of Pixar producing the most amazing animation. Dash's chase, a house flying with balloons, all of Wall-E, etc. IT is understandable to be a little underwhelmed imo.
