Baby got back! :hehe:

is it just me or does that last pic look like claymation or 3d animation? Either way, I don't think this story is worth telling. Is there a villain in this story?

It's a fairy tale. Disney does versions of every fairy tale. That is just what they do. And the witch that imprisons her is the villain. Donny Murphy, who played Doc Ock's wife in SM-2.

So I'm guessing her hair is prehensile like Scream or Medusa? It might even have a mind of it's own. I remember they wanted to do something like that with Captain Amelia from Treasure Planet.

Disney Renames Rapunzel to Tangled
Source:Walt Disney Animation Studios February 12, 2010

Producer Roy Conli just made the official announcement on Walt Disney Animation Studios' Facebook page that Rapunzel has been renamed Tangled:

Hey everyone, I'm Roy Conli, producer of Disney's next animated film. I have some exciting news to share, and it was important to me that YOU guys – the Disney fans – hear it first. I want to tell you about Walt Disney Animation Studio's 2010 release, Tangled. It's a really fresh, smart take on the Rapunzel story. In our film, the infamous bandit Flynn Rider meets his match in the girl with the 70 feet of magical golden hair. We're having a lot of fun pairing Flynn, who's seen it all, with Rapunzel, who's been locked away in a tower for 18 years. I’m so proud of the crew working on this film – they’re doing a fantastic job creating an awesome story with great characters and a stunning world – and it's all going to look amazing in 3D. All of us here at the studio are incredibly excited for you to see Tangled when it comes out in theaters this November."

Tangled, voiced by Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi and Donna Murphy, is scheduled to hit limited theaters on November 12th before expanding on November 24th.

You can view concept art and an image from the film here.
Seems like a weird change...

Novemeber 2010

*waiting in line at the theaters*

"oh great! its seems like Rapunzel isn't playing....what else is playing....hmmm...whats this tagled movie? ugh sounds stupid....oh well, Lets just go see Harry Potter"

Meanwhile Tanglidd is a Box office Bomb, due to confusion with what a tangglad is.

I believe "Tangled" is the proper way to spell the word. ;)

So Rapunzel just isnt a good enough name now? Atleast people would know it.

I get it. Tangled- hair- tangled affairs. It works on so many levels.

It's still a princess flick Disney. People know the story.

Oh, I get it in that sense (tangled hair, obvious). I just don't see why they would change it. It's like changing Beauty & the Beast to Paw & Manicure or something.

That name change sucks. This was supposed to be the next fairy tale after Princess Frog, don't try and "xtreme" it.

I would watch the hell out of that.

Don't hold me to this, but I've seen people on other forums thinking that one of the reasons the Princess-Frog underperformed was because having princess in the title turned off male/boy viewers who don't want to see that kind of movie.

I could see Disney thinking the same thing.

I actually do remember reading something to that extent as well. Geez, that's so dumb on both accounts.

Oh well, if it does somehow get dumb boys to watch it I guess it could benefit, but still, just...bleh. Could be worse, they could have called it A Hairy Tale or something

The smolder line was great. Everything else remains to be seen. Kind of weird to not see the villain in a Disney trailer.

ok, i am gonna have to see this having Zachary (Chuck) Levi as the main (male) character is one reason why i am. LOVED the lizard doing the punching fist into palm tough guy move :hehe:.

Eh, not sold yet. The part of the trailer I thought was pretty weird was that she could control her hair, like tentacles or something. It could work, but right now I'm not so sure.

ehh i don't like how they made Rapunzel look :csad:

she looked better in the production photos:dry:

I'm still annoyed about the title change..

what happened to the ''paint'' look and style? now it looks like a normal animated movie.
