Disney's Tangled

Bumping up!

I saw the second trailer, it actually looks pretty decent. I think a lot of people are harsh on it because from a distance it seems similar to the usual pop-culture reference-laden, "humorous" cgi films that have come out since Pixar/Shrek and people are sick of it, but it looks more like a classic Disney fairytale, only in CG.

Maybe if it was in 2D and released in 1992 people would be warmer towards it :awesome:

^ I think that's what Disney have gone for, traditional in the sense of story telling but updated in terms of technology. It should be known though that both 3D and traditional 2D artists were used on this film, they wanted to capture the essence of 2D in a 3D form, if you noticed there's a slightly hand painted feel to the characters which is where the 2D artists came in. I gotta say I'm surprised it's taken this long for this story to come out, Rapunzel is long overdue for her time in the spotlight with the other Disney Princesses. Speaking of which on a side note I learned today Gisele from Enchanted was suppose to join the list of Disney Princesses but Disney would have had to pay Amy Adams lifetime royalties to use her likeness. :hehe:

Is this thing still called "Tangled" or is it back to "Rapunzel"?

This is looking good. I wasn't crazy about the early trailers because it looked like a Shrek clone, but the newest trailers are much better. Looking forward to seeing this one.

That horse bugs the **** out of me. There's a part in the trailer wherr he looks like he's laughing. This begs the question: why not make the horse TALK? It IS a cartoon, after all.

That is, unless Disney doesn't want Dreamworks to sue them....

the horse in Beauty and the Beast didn't talk, nor the Tiger in Aladdin.

i wanna see this :)

Clips featuring the movie's villain, Mother Gothel.

If Alan Menken is writing it it's guaranteed an Oscar nod for best Song. It's a very typical Disney princess sounding song.

That horse is ****ing hilarious, I bust up laughing every time I see him holding a knife to that guy.

The animation looks fantastic. The story... eh, we'll see. But visually, it looks awesome.

Aw, Chuck Bartowski can sing! That's a nice, sweet Alan Menken song. I've heard some surprisingly good buzz from the test screenings of this thing, so I guess I'm gonna have to see it.

He's a pretty good singer.

Wow, just checked RT, perhaps fears of this film being a little on the poorer side of Disney flicks may have been a little premature. 7/7 so far clocking in an 8.5 average. :wow:

The entire soundtrack is beautiful. Much better than Princess and the Frog.

I've seen the trailers, and while it doesn't look as great as some of the older Disney films, or even 'Princess and the Frog,' it looks like it'll at least be a fun, entertaining romp and a good addition to the Disney franchise. The trailer definitely brought me some laughs, and it's interesting all the things she does with her hair in even just the trailer! I'm definitely planning on giving it a watch.

Glen Keane came over here to Melbourne yesterday to talk about Tangled as well as the other Disney films he's worked on such as Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast etc. I got to see extended footage of Tangled, it's looking very, VERY good, it has the right balance of comedy and drama, and the characters are very appealing. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I had screening passes to see this last weekend...but I didn't go. :csad:

Definitely going to check it out next week, though. Looks great.
