Disturbia

i cant stand shia, he annoys the hell out of me. that aside, the film still looks like crap. i dont need to see this movie to know hitchcock did it better....so i'd rather spend my time watching rear window.

They can have their opinion, I have mine. It is a story I have seen done countless times before in various mediums, only better. I felt it was slow and the climax didn't really pay off all that much. It was an incredibly predictable movie, and the romance and other subplots were forced. Thats how I felt about it, I'm sure some people will like it, but I'll take Rear Window thanks. Hell, I'll take the Simpsons episode that spoofed Rear Window over this.

So it was bad? I assumed it would be. Anyone who dares attmept Hitchcock is doomed for failure.

Wait a minute, why isn't this movie titled "Even Stevens: The Motion Picture"

i still think this movie looks great. i am gonna be checking it out this weekend for sure. between this and transformers i think i am gonna start really liking shia.

Just saw it and thought that it was great.

One of the things that it did really well is that it allowed the audience to connect with these characters. We got to know who these characters are and relate to them.

So, when the **** hits the fan- you're terrified that something might happen to them.

It's not scary per say, neither were any Hitchcock movies- or at least that I know of.... but, similar to Hithcock films it was- without a doubt- INTENSE and SUSPENSEFUL focusing on the build ups rather than the scares which always makes for a better "horror" film.

WHEN WILL HOLLYWOOD QUIT BUTCHERING ITS CLASSICS.

Let's take one of the VERY BEST Alfred Hitchcock movies starring Jimmy Stewart and Grace Kelly and remake it with Shai LaBeoff and a couple of crappy teeny bopper actors and add a lot more blood and nudity and pretend it is new.

GRRR. Why not just ****ing remake Psycho with Vince Vaughn and Anne Heche....oh wait, TOO LATE. What's next Notorious with Jimmy Fallon? Shadow of a Doubt with Lindsay Lohan and Brad Pitt? North by Northwest with Paul Walker? ****ing Hollywood, this is disgraceful.

Have you actually seen it ? b/c most reviews say it's only part rear window and there is a lot more in it

I saw it saturday. i thought it was very good. very suspenseful. its not just wham bam where's the blood and guts. it works up till a certain until it happens. not the blood and guts but the action.

it was very, very good...I got dragged to it by friends, all the while I was talking about how I'd already seen Rear Window...I gotta say, it was much, much better than I expected...great character development, good effects for the bodies near the end, it was great

thank god... see people, it's not as bad as you think (if you think it's bad). it's actually a great movie!!

I loved this movie. I thought it'd be alright, worth a rental when it comes on NetFlix.

But Shia is a great actor, really surprised me. And the girlfriend is a hottie.

David Morse... loved him in 16 Blocks, and he was just as good, if not better, in this movie. Wow. Great performances.

Is Carrie-Anne Moss pregnant or something

i was very pleasantly surprised by this movie... i thought it looked pretty good, but i wasnt sure id go see in the theaters, my sister saw it and she loved it, i have been going through a rough time and she wanted to take me so i went.. it was a great movie.. it was really smart, there was a lot more to it than the commercials and adverts show off, they make it to be a different movie than it really is.. i love the subtle touches to the acting and the way teens act towards certain situations.. i love the adventurous spirit it holds as well as the suspense and humor.. it does a very good job at keeping the audiences attention. Its not for everyone, but it was worth it to me.

Glad you guys are all liking it! I've heard time and time again that everyone is always suprised and enjoy it. Good news, as I loved the film (just read below)!

Damn good movie.
Shia is such a cutie pie. :P
This movie open with such a bang, I wasn't sure if I was going to make it if it remain on that scale. :(
Good humor and intense moments with some love interest that didn't over shadow the movie for me.
Although,I just kept wanting them to kiss already.
:meanie:

Dave Morse was great as the creepy next door neighbor.

9/10

I saw this movie. It was defenitly a great horror thriller. It had plenty of drama, suspense, and horror, and some action. The first role I can remember where Shia is not doing something intense and not comedy. It had my heart rate pounding and was scary. It reminds me of the past horror killer movies where the killer would running around except this time it's focused on a person with no costume and it's more in a one area. I think I might see this again. :yay:  If you like horror thrillers that are more realistic along with Red Eye then I reccomend that you see this.

saw and liked it.

not the best thing ever but Shia is great and the pacing worked. Script was perfect for the kind of teenie bop flick that it is. I didn't feel insulted once.

fun.

I've just seen it and what I can say the film itself was not bad.

The first act was the best one, I really enjoyed Shia's acting (can't wait to see him again in TF). But by the end the entire films turns out as usual thriller with protagonist trying to explain people around him something (or exactly neighbour being serial killer) that they can't see before the actual conflict.

My rate? 6.5 out of 10, only first hour is worth watching, then just leave theatre.

Not released until September here but ive never understood why you have an issue with things not being totally original since a lot of films you like are not original at all,it's the execution and characters that matter.

It was remake, right? But why not add something new, we all know that remake shouldn't be totaly same as was original. The last act was very predictable, and I didn't find anything impressive besides one thing, Shia and his performance. Such endings were overdone many times and I am tired of them.

What about my taste, here you go explanation:

1. Fight Club - didn't read book, but from what I heard movie's ending had been way better than the one in the book.
2. Memento - neither adaptation, nor remake, but a really fresh idea
3. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - the same, what was said about Memento
4. Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang - very funny thriller with happy ending, but again, nothing was remade or adaptated.
5. The Prestige - a book adaptation, which 80% is untruthul to the original source (and this is exactly what makes this movie so amazing)
6. Donnie Darko - nothing to say
7. Adaptation - adaptation, which actually isn't adaptation (making the main hero a screenwriter, who tries to adapt the book, Kaufman opened new door to how to tell story)
8. American Beauty - yes, it's movie being done with theatre play as the original source, but as I didn't see the play, I think the film was fresh for me
9. The Usual Suspects - the same, what was said about Memento, a new look at the old genre
10. Children of Men - didn't read the book
11. Requim for a Dream - didn't read the book
12. Se7en - fresh
13. Casino - didn't read the book, but as I know the movie pays more attention to characters' relationships than to the story of one man and casino business itself
14. Leaving Las Vegas - fresh
15. Twelve Monkeys - fresh

I just heard on the radio this was number one again. It made a little over 9 million dollars this week.

Who would have thought it would have made this much money and be number 1 at the box office for 3 straight weeks.
