Great film, my GF couldn't even watch half the scenes without squirming or covering her eyes.

I am however curious in how the role would have played out if Michael K. Williams would have been casted.

9/10..leapfrogged Basterds as my 2nd favorite QT flick behind Pulp Fiction. the acting was brilliant and that [BLACKOUT]KKK bag scene[/BLACKOUT] is probably the funniest scene i've seen all year

it was clunky in moments, quentin ain't quite as snappy as he used to be, but still quite a good movie.

Yeah, Jonah Hill actually being in that KKK scene makes sense now because it feels like something he and Rogen and Apatow, etc. would do.

They just view Foxx as more of a comedian than a serious actor even though he's done several serious roles.

As much as I like Will Smith I can't really see him in this role. And besides lighter skinned slaves had it a little bit better than the darker skinned slaves ( which is still sad).

Awesome movie.

I had a lot of fun watching this, as I usually do watching Tarantino's stuff. It just might be his funniest movie, between the saloon scene in the beginning and the mask scene, I was loving it. The dinner scene may have gone on a bit too long, but you expect long dialogue scenes in QT's stuff.

I really liked Jamie Foxx, but I feel like his best stuff was at the end, going back to Candie Land. I loved the "Six shots" "Two guns" bit.

Christoph Waltz was great as Schultz. [BLACKOUT]I was sad to see him die, but at least he took out Candie.[/BLACKOUT] DiCaprio was awesome as Candie. This was a side of him we've never seen before and he was really having fun with the role. But it was Samuel L. Jackson who stole the movie for me. I loved every minute he was on screen. All three of them deserve Supporting Actor nods.

Why people want Will Smith? Foxx is an Academy Award Winner.

I'd argue that Will Smith has deserved it more than Foxx. He is a very good dramatic actor when he needs to be and very few actors have the charisma he has on screen.

At the very end, I thought I was going to burst an artery laughing when [BLACKOUT]Samuel Jackson shouted "Jesus, help me kill this n*****". The delivery was just way too perfect.[/BLACKOUT]

The way Christoph Waltz went out was both amazing and depressing at the same time. One of the best character deaths in recent memory.

He just kills Leo and you're like, "yes!" And then he turns around and says that great subtle one liner and is blown across the room. Then you're thinking, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

He just couldn't resist though...

Any complaining over Foxx at this point is pointless, he was great in it. It would have been very interesting to see smith take it on but if you've seen the movie you'd understand why either him or his people turned it down.

For better or worst smith is still a "family film" type of guy and this would be a huge departure for him into more controversial territory. Beside maybe he's still traumatized over Wild Wild West?

[BLACKOUT]I was hoping that Django was going to grab the shotgun from Candie's bodyguard before he had a chance to shoot Schultz. Polar opposite of Inglourious Basterds for a Christoph Waltz character. Throughout Inglourious Basterds, I kept thinking "I can't wait to see Col. Landa bite the dust." He never did, of course, but I was still satisfied with his fate. Here, I was hoping that he would survive. Go figure.[/BLACKOUT]

I want Will Smith because it wouldve been a different kind of role for him. I think the closest he's had to a role like this was maybe Bad Boys II (in terms of being R rated)

Foxx is a great actor. I've never disputed that even when he was initially cast

The KKK scene as well as Samuel L. Jackson's character overly was simply hilarious. I haven't laughed that hard all year.

I still would have been interested in seeing Michael K. Williams play that part.

Jamie Foxx was outstanding in this. He really had the most difficult role of all, having to be so restrained the majority of the movie. Yes, Will Smith would have been great in the role as well, but we've known for a long time now that these kind of movies just aren't for him. He doesn't take the risks that Dicaprio takes.

I love the irony of the setting and having a black man as the main villain

I loved this movie. Just a really great film. Great performances, great soundtrack, great action.

Will Smith would have been bad casting. Foxx was perfect for the role.

I'm surprised there wasn't a Levar Burton cameo. Seems like something QT would do.

Jamie Foxx was pretty good, though I'm of the belief that Idris Elba would have been magnificent in the role and really sold the transformation for Django. Plus I think he would have given the character more soul and thus made the relationship between Broomhilda and Django more effective.

That being said, Foxx did an admirable job with the role.
