Based on that picture I look forward to Leo having fun in his role instead of trying to win that Oscar.

Leo scream of Bill the Butcher. I like it.

I didn't believe Leo was actually a part of this until I saw that still.

I agree. Too clean and modern looking.

But everything looks stylized/stage play like so it should be cool.

No way should this film feel anything like a 'stage play'. You get that feeling in a film, it feels restrained and stale, maybe that is your idea of 'cool', but it's nowhere near mine. Even Reserviour Dogs, which mostly took place in one location for the most part, did not feel like a stage play.
edit: When a stage play is adapted to film, it should never feel like a stage play, it has to be adapted for the different medium.

This. I am waiting for a still of Kerry Washington in this movie, because I feel the same way about Kerry as you did with Leo before that still came out.

I'll have to disagree with you on resevoir dogs, and not just because it mostly takes place in one room. Rather its more about how that space is used and the scenes are blocked. It feels very much like a play to me

As for Di caprio being a badass, I don't know about that. It might involve an Untouchables situation. I think a lot of people are just picking up a Billy the Butcher vibe off him. That character was also dress quite dandy-like much of the time.

Or they might just be referring to to the film itself which even from a few stills and what we know of the script seems really committed telling its story, violence and all while also having very high caliber actors and vibrant costume design. Essentially, this movie is doing whatever the f### it wants. It is therefore badass.

Foxx looks great. I don't know what people are talking about.

From what I've read around te net, Foxx has been impressing people with his swagger. Just from his one photo, his machismo is ozzing.

I think people have an idea in their head of what a slave should look like. But the thing is, by virtue of being a slave, you would dress how your master wanted you to dress.

isnt he a slave that is trained to kill Leo?

He plays a slaveowner in the film I guess? So, from what you are speculating, he is about to cave in some poor slave's head with a hammer, and that is somehow, 'badass'?!

Nobody knows the setup here, obviously....and maybe he *is* just getting ready to hang a picture or something....but from what I've read of the movie description, the "poor slave" he's probably getting ready to hammer is a dude who's been born and bred to fight gladiator-style in deathmatches for Leo's amusement. So it's probably not going to be an easy task for Leo, cappice?

I think all three look great. I almost didn't recognize Foxx, Leo looks like a psycho and that coat Waltz is wearing is so grandiose it's badass.

Yeah, Waltz is going to be stylin' on people in this movie.

Leo looks badass. As do Foxx and Waltz. But I'm most intrigued by Leo. He definitely has a very Gangs of New York look to him. I actually expected him to look like a real hick, except more of a high class kind.

he looks badass. and i expect a very unique performance from him. i would maybe even say that for the first time i dont see his babyface.
