so im applying for a job via online for a position at a winn dixie store near me. i went to the store personally to inquire about a job and they said they were accepting applications and that i would have to apply online. now first of all do online applications work? and when she said they were accepting applications does that mean you would get a job from them or what?

i really dont trust applicaitons like that. once u fill it out online, then go check back at the store u jus applied for and see if they recieve it.

Online applications are very common nowadays. Unless you have any reason not to trust the company there's no reason to avoid them. It doesn't mean that you'll necessarily get a job direct from the application though, you may be asked to attend an interview depending on the type of job.

I've had very little luck with ever hearing anything from applying online. I have always done better by actually going to the place of business.

As long as you do a spell check. *looking at thread title*

We are in a new age when everything is online. I pay all my bills online. I have stamps from months ago because of that. Same thing with applications.

Except for the fact that online applications don't ever make it to the store. Just make sure you go in person and ask that they got it and if you can set up an interview or something, cuz chances are good you'll never get a call otherwise.

I applied for a job at Lincoln Financial Field online May of last year.. I applied for a job at Borders Bookstore online a month ago. I have both jobs. So applying online might not be such a waste of time.

I applied online to Toys R Us and I got the response by the end of the week. Four days to be precise.

I applied online at Borders, Circuit City, and Best Buy. I got nothing. I also went to Target and Mervyns to fill out their online applications at their respective in-store kiosks. Also nothing. I sat by the phone like Dateless Colleen on Friday night.

However, everytime I turned in a hand-written application to somebody, I got an interview within the week. Granted, I screwed up one of those interviews by showing up "late" (nevermind that my watch gets me to every class, doctor's appointment, and TV show on time. The manager of an AT&T cellphone kiosk said my watch was 10 minutes slow), but I've had much better luck with written applications than online ones.

Must be my spectacular handwritting.

I prefer handwritten to online. But I'm sure either work fine. Although filling it out in person tends to work better, get's your face out there.

Most supermarkets require online applications, its the main way they hire. You probably couldn't turn in a paper one if you wanted to. Online is fine, just follow up on it at the store.

i got a job where i work at now using an online application.

My aunt got a job in a day with Winn Dixie by filling out their online application.

GAH reminds me of a tender turtle, inside his shell, and he'd like to come out, so he asks the other turtles, "Well, first, are there any hyenas out there?"
"Are there any...tigers?

"Howabout...I'm not coming out if there are any mosquitos. Are there any mosquitos out today!!! You can get West Nile VIRUS from those!"

"Are there any rusty nails laying around? I'd hate to step on one. Ew. And then I'd have to get a tetanus shot."

"Does my beak look weird? I mean compared to everyone else's. :( Maybe I should just....well, lemmee see your beak a little closer before I stick my neck out."

"Does your neck get cold...I mean, when it's sticking out, exposed to the air? What do you do if it does? Has your neck ever got cold? Or hot, what about hot, like......is it too sunny today? And is there even anything you CAN do, if it gets really sunny? What if I overheat!!!"

lol. That's a cute turtle, I want one. :(

why are your posts always useless?
If the chick said you'd have to apply online, and you want the job, then how about, APPLY...ONLINE.

When the potential employer gives certain requirements for applicants, it's a CRACKING good idea to do what they say, if you really want them to hire you.

Next, when you a.p.p.l.y., no, that doesn't mean "they are going to hire you". It means that you are offering yourself for consideration.

Then, if you sound like you'd be a good fit with the company, they'll probably contact you to let you know that they'd like to hire you.

Now, what's this about "useless posts" ?
