Okay I've been looking for a job since the end of last September. And I've had no luck. I call back and check on my applications and they say they're not hiring right not then hang up  I filled applications to atleast every fast food place within 10miles of where I live. And various stores in the mall.
Do I need to staple my patheic resume to an application :(

Anyone got some tips on how to atleast get an interview?

Make a better resume. Lie. Add things like you did this in school and you set team events and all that crap. Just add little lies where you interacted with people.

Or blow :P

16. I think I'm about to "fabricate" on some things on my resume:o

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it may just be a little part time thing, but just make sure they don't follow up on your skills after you get the job...they tend to do that.

Skills Experience in the programs of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint.

How could I make this look better? I'm not gonna strech it that much.

1. Ask for app.
2. Turn IN app.
3. Check in at least once a week in person.
4. Job (eventually).

SKILLS- Say, "I am also a great team worker, and love to work with many new people."

Or something like that.

Doesn't that make me look annoying?

I said it on my app for Dunham's. Now I'm about to become a key manager and head of the Shoe department.

I know how you feel Sapphire... I'm trying to get a job as well, and even with a friend of mine helping me out, it's still tough

What's annoying is that the bigger companies do all their applications online, so you can't really call them and ask how your application is doing or whatever. :down

well, what I tend to do when it's like that is fill in an application a day, so that they see that I'm trying

I really don't trust online applications.

They still make paper ones?

Getting a job at 16 isn't as easy as it used to be. Most places look for individuals around 18 nowadays..

Have you tried your city/town/township/borough's parks department? I'm sure they have some sort of kid's activities thing that requires very little experience.

More like desperate, SPrima. It helps if you know someone who works there and can put in a good word for you. That is how I my 1st job. Actually it was someone my mother knew.

have you tried uploading your resume to monster.com or careerbuilder.com

i don't know where you live, but if you have any commissaries nearby, those are good places to work while in school. they don't have really late hours, they work around your school schedules, the pay is pretty good (i started out at 8.25), and you get annual leave and sick leave to use whenever.

www.commissaries.com or www.usajobs.gov are good places to check out
