Superman Returns Do you want a longer cut of the film?

Has any of these things actually worked?

I think there was a Spider-man 3 Extended version petition awhile back....

Beats me if they work! But I sure want a longer cut! :D

Specially if Singer or Routh aren't coming back, i love to see the return to Krypton scene and all the other ones they removed!

The movie wasn't that good but I'd buy a longer cut with the Krypton scenes included.

Hell, no. I've watched the deleted scenes; none of them would have added anything that the movie needed. I want a shorter cut. Too many scenes of no one talking and nothing happening.

I've already signed it. I really want a longer cut, seeing the Return to Krypton sequence is the main thing for me. But even adding the deleted scenes from the DVD would have been better for me, I loved the Lex deleted scenes. Also want the subplot of Lex been the one who sent Supes back to Krypton and want the scene where young Clark discovers the original ship.

That's funny cause the first time I watched Superman Returns I remember thinking "I wish this was shorter".

Same here, but I admit that if a re-edit adds more content (instead of dragging out certain scenes like the lifting of the new continent) I'd be interested in seeing what it's like.

It's only going to be a longer Movie with Superman lifting stuff.

I want every deleted scene put back in. I want the original shirt rip put back in. I want the whole movie recolored & brightened & digitally remastered & converted to the best Blu Ray transfer known to man.

You know people the RTK scene wasn't the only thing missing from Superman Returns. There was the whole Lex Luthor sub plot that was and is very important to the main story missing. There was the whole if Superman should return sub plot that is very important to how he was recived after saving the plane that was missing. You have a brief moment at the Fortress that is missing. You also have the whole thing that ties back in to the RTK with Superman flying through New Krypton missing. See as I said before Superman Returns was a great movie and was well done and after watching S;TM and S:II TRDC and SR back to back to back this weekend it fits right in place with the Donner films and could almost be considered a Trilogy. All three films put together are great movies. It's really a shame we wont see the sequel to the movie.

we're now three (four?!) years removed from SR's release... I can't believe we haven't gotten a director's cut yet. What is WB waiting for?? Especially now that they're officially rebooting... why are they holding on to the footage?! Make money WB... release a special edition DVD!!!

How long did it take to get the Donner Cut of Superman 2 out, once the petition was started? Does anyone know?

Can we just erase it from our memory, sweeping it under the rug instead?

Yes absolutely. I would love to see the elements of that bueatiful story that got cut. Where do I sign.

You and Mego Joe say that, yet you visit a Superman Returns section of the forum? Curious.

Just b/c we didn't like SR doesn't mean we don't have an opinion on it. As a matter of fact it's been my personal mission to erase SR from everyone's memory, the fact that they are rebooting has me elated. It wasn't just that SR was bad, it was wrong.

And you have to stand up and be counted when something is wrong...

So you defend having your own opinion yet at the same time want to help decide everyone else's opinion on it as long as it suits yours? I'm calling that a bull***** argument.

If you don't like the movie, then fine. But not everyone thinks the movie was "wrong", so don't go pretending it is just because it makes you feel better about your biased opinion.

I care too much about the character of Superman to just stand by and see his character sullied in an awful adaptation. It's not about making me feel better- it's about standing up for what's right for the character-

-besides, they're rebooting so it's not like I was wrong... ;)

If it wasn't 'wrong' we would have a sequel with Routh and cast with or without Singer. But Singer's vision was so singular (and erroneous) there isn't going to be a sequel.

It's pretty clear that SR was 'wrong' in many ways. It should be completely obvious that a 'baby daddy' story for Superman is wrong in everyway. Period.
