Documentary On Blacks & Race Stuns Audiences

I don't know what you're talking about :o

All right, Spoons.

Tell me, which one of these b****es is the BAD b****?

I like to know what acting *insert color of skin here* means.

Pandering to the steryotype. When people learn I'm Irish they're amazed to learn that I don't drink that much. Same basic principle.

I knew that much. But for example "acting white" Makes absoultley no sense.

In a sense black person would be degrading his/herself because if another black person studied, received good grades, spoke in proper english, and so forth were acting white. Then that would make the assumption that white people are smarter and more sophisticated than black people...if that makes any sense.

Also, just to throw this out there what is up with "you can't dance" thing when there are dozens of different forms of dancing other than Hip-Hop.

and with that statement, you are smarter than 70% of people I've ever met.

It makes sense in terms of the steryotype. The steryotype is that white people are smarter and hold the best jobs. Doesn't mean its true, but its the way it happens. A steryotype is a powerful thing.

Of course it doesn't make sense, that's why it's so stupid that so many people insist on using that stereotype for everything. Speaks a lot for the intelligence of the world :csad:

I feel ya. My own people really ain't helping much at times, when they keep pushing these images:

And say that these are what "black" is. :cmad:

So true, and then we get ignorant fools who are dumb as s*** and think that it's cool to imitate this.

Damn, I absolutely hate it when people say this.

I remember when one of my friend's said this and I asked him to explain what it meant.
He couldn't say anything.

Acting white. It means nothing at all. No one can describe it, but when you see an asian/latino/black person and you can't tell they're that race when you speak to them before seeing them, that would be what they call "acting white." Good grammar is more or less what it is. Go figure.

LOL

Sorry ATP, looks like Spoons only chose you because he's been 'conditioned' to do so.

... And all this time you thought it was your stunning personality and charm:o

Pssh, there are plenty of other races he could be dating. I met him at a social club where I was the only white girl for ages, the other ladies had their chance with him and failed :o

I once had an Italian kid kid tell me I didn't "act black" in high school. Well Spoons wasn't goin out like no punk so when I asked him what the heck he meant and he said "You wouldn't understand"

:dry::huh:

why is this exactly a bad thing though? it kinda makes it look like african american kids are only supposed to play with toys that also have a black skintone which, in my opinion, is promoting social segregation.

Also, I didn't see anything about the numbers.

If she talked to 100 kids, and 30 of 'em chose Black as "bad", but she was so disturbed by the thirty self-loathers that she took those and compiled them.....that'd be different.
Maybe that was dealt with and I just missed it.

Wow the Italian guy seems to 'think' he has a better understanding than you do.:whatever:

He probably wanted you to check your race card for the section marked:

-loves to eat collards, neckbones, and watermelon,
-uses ebonics
-dresses in clothes TWO sizes too big.

Well, the questioning makes the study a little more clear by asking the kid specifically how they felt about the dolls, not about which one they wanted to play with. So I think it's attempting to send the correct message. I just don't think we fully understand what that message is.

Yeah, I was like "I guess I haven't tried to rob you or take you shopping for rims" :whatever:

I have said it once. I will say it again. I am done apologising. I am 28 years old. I am not racist never have been. I am not going to feel guilty about being white.

If blacks want to continue feeling like they are treated differently. That is there problem. Not mine. I will continue to treat a *****e like a *****e because they are a *****e. Not because of skin tone.

On a side note. That little girl that probably thought she was just going to get to play with dolls, but had to come to the realization that she hated herself. I hope that the parents sue the 17 year old that conducted that experiment on her. No child should have to face to face with that reality until they are much older. That is bull sh**!
