Fair enough, but the fact that you don't seem to see a HUGE difference in the way the majority class treats the minority class may very well be a problem.

This same study was performed by Harvard in the '50's. Give a black child the choice of a white or black doll; 9-10 would pick white. Sad that nothing's changed

I wonder when a white suburbia kids goes from wanting to play with the white dolls to wanting to act as if they came straight from the ghetto? I would also like to know where the kids in this video where raised. I did some volunteer work for an adopt a family program in my city. I got to meet a lot of the families that were seeking help and it was funny. This one little black girl was telling us she wanted a barbie for Christmas and she made sure we knew she wanted a black one.

It's everyone's problem to some degree. How one views himself can have an effect on the greater society. Is it fair? No. That's just life in the big city, bub. You can't wish it away. How old are you? My age was precisely my point. I did not grow up with racism around me. So I do not consider myself racist.

Heh, the point was to make every body stop and think(not feel guilt) about what's going on NOW. Even if it were a question of your ancestors, the fact that it's still going on today would lead us right back to the point this study was trying to make.

Another issue with these choosing of dolls is that there still aren't many options for dolls of other ethnicities. Sure, there may be one or two options for a black Barbie for instance, but let's face it, the majority are still white. And a lot of the white dolls have the better accessories and are purposely made to look "prettier" so I think it would make sense why a child might pick the white doll.
