hey you guys i was just reading nightwing 126 and dick said that he should have a side kick does any body else think that it is a good idea and if he does get one what will he or possibly she be called

first of all he is not a side kick any more he is and has been a fullyfleged hero for a couple years

if you as kthat then you might as well be asking why does nay super hero have a sidekick

Uh no. Dick has no need of a sidekick. Nor an excuse to have one.

sure he does he coul use a little help every now and then

Everyone could use a little help, that's still no excuse to be creating new sidekicks all over the place.

If Nightwing ever needs serious help, he has Oracle, he has Robin, he has even Batman who he can call on. Not to mention the Outsiders.

Yeah. There really is no reason why he should need one in the first place.

Blockbuster is dead, and Bane is a patient and cunning master planner. He doesn't just jump out from behind a tree and break your back.

But hell, even if Blockbuster arisen from the grave, and Bane acting totally out of character did attack Nightwing at the same time, no 12yo in tights would be able to save him.

who said it hast to be a twelve yo the guy or girl could be in their late teens

**** it, how about Nightwing just carry around a super-intelligent monkey on his back?

You know what? I'm seeing the coolness inherent in giving him a sidekick.

If done correctly, and with some wry humour, you could really play up the angle of "look how far Dick has gone" and get into the "son becomes the father" dynamic.

If done right, I'd enjoy it.

im sorru i didnot mean whay ijust said im just under a lot of stres and i am in a very bad mood right now

I dont think any hero needs a side kick...there's just no logical reason to bring a child into crime fighting...partners I can see, such as Green Arrow and his son (I can also forgive the current Speedy cause she's a cool character)...but even Robin I think is really pushing it...

the piont of having a side kick is for some one to basicly do the grunt work for you and use them when you need help

In the beginning Batman got a sidekick so the kids that read comics would have someone to identify with.
Later, the reasoning is that Batman needed a Robin because without one, he was too grim. Now, with the majority of comic-readers being adults, it's not necessary to have a kid to identify with, and Nightwing isn't a very grim character to begin with.

I could see Nightwing having a sidekick/partner someday, 40s 50s, but not now.
