It's possible. They are filming right now and the Russos were the ones directing that scene. I feel like that's probably going to be a scene taken directly from Doomsday, so it might be a small snipit of a larger scene. If so, it would be weird if they couldn't get RDJ to do that lol.
I hope this is the case

Heck no, that was a body double. There was nothing to that scene and anyone can slouch and hold a mask
That was my first reaction but if it's part of a full scene with Downey then it could really be him. Although with all the rewrites happening, that scene could be totally reworked by the time we see it in Doomsday anyway.

I hope it is a full scene. Cause if it's not, and that was it... lame. It gives you nothing.

But that isnt something I hold against THIS movie. I never score the post credits for or against these when I rate and rank them

Agreed. The post credits scene here was actually my least favorite part of the movie solely for reminding me that RDJ Doom is coming but it's also something that can easily be ignored within the context of the rest of the movie.

The thing that I actually found most fascinating about the scene was that The Very Hungry Caterpillar also exists in the 828 universe. :o

I only know RDJ as a sassy quip master. Doom is supposed to be menacing. I don't know how it will go.

To be fair, Doom can be sassy. But with very Shakespearean insults

I'm just hoping for an accent. Whether it's a "Latverian" or English accent, I don't care. The further from Downey's regular speaking voice, the better.

I'm warming up to the idea now.

Hope Downey goes balls to the wall and puts on an accent LOL.

I'm still not. I am warming up to the fact that the FF will be in the movie, and I am excited to see them interact with the MCU gang. So I am warming up to the movie itself in that regard....just not to Dr. Iron Man himself

It's still a desperate idea of RDJ being Doom. I will never warm up to it, no matter of RDJ's range. There were so many other good actors you could have chosen. Disney and MS panicked and here's where we're at. We'll see if it's RDJ more than we actually will see Doom with his mask on. I mean in the mid credits of F4 FS he's already got his mask off. Ugh.

given Franklins power set... could this have been implying that he was healing Doom's face and that is why he had the mask off

Yeah, I don’t hate RDJ as Doom. He brings a cool vibe and charisma that fits the role in a different way than the comics, more casual and fun. Not perfect, but I think he made Doom more relatable for a wider audience.

Yeah, that what I think happened. F wasn't scared or anything, than again he just years before was thrown through the air when Galactus came. I'm gonna riot if he doesn't at least have a scar or has most of time his mask off. They should have gone with like Cillian Murphy or so and kept it a secret. Furthermore, the Mid-Credit should have been a scene like in Doom's castle in Latveria or something. Maybe Reed or some specific Avenger chained in a tower or something. Maybe Doom silhouette sitting on his throne with red scarlet dust implying another Wanda from that Universe, but the Mid-credit we got is nothing special like the one during TB.it's shame cause we just got Brand new Day and then straight away Doomsday. No amazing build up like with Thanos .

I wonder if the poll above is any slight indication of the movies performance. Given that normies loved RDJ as Tony. Not sure if him being (even from another universe) a villain was a great decision. There's times where I wish the original teams or even brain trust at MS were constructing this phase or moving forward. Feige being the only one in charge has me worried for a while. Hate that he also always downplays issues.

Doom I would be shocked if he doesn't have the scars. By Secret Wars, I am sure he won't have them cause he will fix his own face once he is all powerful, but until then, I am betting he has the scars.

I’m thinking Doom is from the FF’s Universe and Reed and Doom may have the history we’re all hoping for.

The very obvious empty Latveria table seems like a big clue, but we also know the Russo’s were filming on the FF sets, so I think Doomsday may start there.

Sure Doom could jump Universes and be from anywhere, but we haven’t had any mention of him in the MCU, and now we have seen him in the FF’s Universe.

We also know the Thunderbolt’s after-credit scene indicates someone is coming from the FF’s universe to the MCU. Maybe the FF, maybe Doom…Maybe the FF chasing Doom (who might have Franklin).

Also RDJ could be a good thing from the point of view it indicates Doom isn’t from the MCU (if he’s a variant of Tony Stark, it wouldn’t make sense that he’s also from the MCU).

Bottom line - I think there are reasons to believe Doom is from the FF’s Universe and no reason’s to think he’s from anywhere else. He’s probably not from the main MCU, and it would seem odd to pull him from some random universe.

One year since the announcement and now having seen First Steps, my only hope is that Doomsday manages convince me that casting RDJ was a good idea. Because in a vacuum, I think he'd be a great choice. Just the inescapable fact that he played Iron Man for a decade.

The reaction to the Doom mid-credit scene was very positive; people were clapping and cheering. Social media is mixed & I've noticed more negative (probably because of my bias) but I think it's safe to say that outside the comic community people are excited and will receive RDJ (and the movie) with open arms. Regardless if the quality is there or not the movies will perform very well financially.

POSITIVITY!
