The Amazing Spider-Man Does anyone else get an empty feeling from this movie?

It's not something that Peter would do. Another example of how this film missed Peter's characteriziation.
Peter wouldn't let a man fall to his death right in front of him either. But it's what that fool did in Raimi's Spider-Man. A 101 x worst. With that alone, the "With Great Power..." motif goes right out the window.

The untold story is that Peter is actually a woman in a man's body, but still likes women.

yes.

The car jacker scene starts off jokey jokey and then turns when spidey webs the car jacker's mouth and nose shut and gives him that stare. You have to wonder what would have happened if he had that star tattoo. Very similar to the scene where Bruce is going to kill Chill (hey! That rhymes :woot:) but is beaten to the punch.

I did. The only reason this movie even exists is because Sony wanted to hold onto the rights of Spidey NOT because there was a story to be told. Marc Webb's directing was soulless and uninspired and you can see it on the screen.

In your humble opinion. The Uncle Ben death, The bridge rescue has lost of heart and emotion, so if you say the movie was soulless to you that's your opinion but it's not a statement of fact.

Every time someone calls this Movie soulless, I just want to...

Yes, Sony's reason to reboot the series was completely for business, only so they wouldn't lose the rights, which is sad. But, Marc Webb made the movie worth it. Besides, we don't know the reason for why WB did Batman Begins, but I doubt it was because they felt there was a story to be told, it was probably too just for business. But, they hired a good director and a good production team which made the movie good

Batman Begins was not made because of Warner loosing the rights to DC (that's because Warner IS DC lol), but was made because all their superhero franchises were dead: Superman was dead since the 80s, Batman was dead since the 90s, and Wonder Woman, Flash and Green Lantern were never that known to create a successful movie. Both DC and Warner did want money, and they tried with the one that has least lucky in the past: Batman.

And let's be honest, they were VERY LUCKY to find such a good director (Nolan) willing to make a movie about a character hated by the movie industry since Batman & Robin. Webb didn't had such responsibility, because Raimi left the saga in a good place (okay, it could have been better, but SM3 is not THAT bad as B&Robin).

And, even so, Webb did a GREAT job trying to insert his vision of the character in ASM, fixing out most of the Raimi's trilogy problems that bothered the fans. ASM is a GREAT film, it could have been better, but it's what we all needed as Spidey fans. I don't like to compare the film, but this is our Batman Begins.

Now, we just have to wait until our The Dark Knight, which could be in merely two years.

:lmao:

God forbid an industry that makes it money from movies actually has a business model that puts out movies to make money. I know I said this before but this notion that studios, directors and actors ONLY make movies for the love of it and don't have any business aspect is hand is stupid. Gee, why did Marvel open it's own film studio? Because they saw the money to be made from their properties and could answer to themselves. Why are they hesitant to put out another incredible hulk movie? Because as solo movie, he doesn't make enough money for them to justify making another one. Does that mean they don't love the hulk? Of course not but they also have a bottom line, investors and board members to answer to. Any person in charge of a business and not making money is going to be fired, point blank. Why did Sony decide to make the first spider-man in 02? Money.

ASM was the opposite of empty. It was one of the most heartfelt and emotionally involving superhero movies of recent memory, possibly since Superman the Movie.

In fact it made the Raimi films look like Batman Forever.

I didn't get an empty feeling at all. The wife and I shared a large Popcorn, and I ate most of it, I got pretty full. Oh, and I loved the movie also, as did my wife.

Keep On Thwipin'!!!
Sam

my father and I shared a large popcorn.

We got a refill after the movie to get our moneys worth.

Movie snacks are so freaking expensive.

I didn't get an empty feeling.

BTW, I joined a brotherhood.

well, Assassin's Creed, Spider-Man, and Batman are some of my favorite things :P

I actually don't believe that that's real...

You're playing opposites right?

Radioactive, people have differing opinions. Get over it.

By that logic, I guess he should've saved the Goblin too, right? If Peter can't save someone he can't. That has nothing to do with responsibility, especially if the person created their own fate as did the thief and the Goblin.
