The Amazing Spider-Man Does anyone else get an empty feeling from this movie?

Err.. they were left hanging, they didn't go away.

Which scenes? The one that we have no conclusive evidence was even related to his parents?

And if your referring to "If you want the truth about your parents Peter, come and get it!" I always assumed that was a commercial only line, and was never made for a scene.

I'm going to have to get used to the idea that franchises aren't self contained stories with all the answers given in a nice neat box. It didn't harm the movie for me but I was left thinking about plot threads that go away (to be picked up again in the sequel). It's like watching TV but the episodes come every 2 years.

Now I'll have to go and see it a third time to see if I can feel these plots unsolved.

This movie gets a pass this time around but they have to answer 'some' questions in the sequel rather than push all the answers into the final installment.

Ok, just please don't be angry at things that haven't happened.

I think that Uncle Ben's killer will be found in the next film.

Well, Spider-man met Uncle Ben's killer again later in his career.

I think that Uncle Ben's killer will be found in the next film.

Bet you Ben's killer becomes a super villian. Instant connection to Peter without the need for a disgraceful retcon

Oh dear god I hope not.

At most, I would want him to be Felicia Hardy's father like in Spectacular Spider-Man.

Man, I wish I could use images in my signature.

At least, this time, we actually saw the guy killing Ben, so they can't make a stupid retcon again, later on.

Superman - Yes, you are correct
Joker card, Batman as fugitive, Thor and Jane separated and Cap waking up are all set-ups for the sequel that occur in the last few minutes of the films.
What we are talking about is plot points directly related to the hero's origin that are mentioned at the beginning of the film and then dropped.

The Superman example is the only one of your examples that applies.

I think he is wrong with Superman. Obviously now we know that they had a sequel planned, but no one knew who the Kryptonians were at the time.
So no major plot points were left unresolved. They were lost in space, never to be seen again, so in a way the plot was resolved at least in that film.

Oh, so you realized I was right and decided to include the "part of the origin" clause in the last minute, the same ytou added "major plot points" when the original discussion was about only "plot threads"?

If you please stopped changing the subject...

Um, no. As I said, I didn't explain myself well enough. Since you want to talk like a juvenile and not have a civilised discussion I think we can end this here. Back to lurking for me.

Indeed you are correct. They were a plot device in the original to show Jor El's sway over the council. Once they were fired off into space, the issue was resolved.

Um, no. The discussion didn't start with you, you joined it later. The original point never considered plots related with the origin only, nor it did the first time you posted.

But, as you say, you didn't explain well enough. Not my fault.

1) You hate movies with plots that are left or sequels to solve.
2) Most superhero movies do.
3) You hate most superhero movies.
That's exactly what I've saying this whole time. Thank you...

Okay, I saw the film again, and I realized there are SOOO many things that didn't make sense/I disliked about unfortunately one of the main parts of the film, how Peter Parker became Spiderman.

*First I disliked how he could just lie and take someone else's nametag. Really, no ID check, no anything?

*Then he can just walk in the Spider room, after just watching Ratha put in a simple password, he just copies it and BOOM he's right inside? These genetically-altered spiders are a multi-million, perhaps multi-billion dollar investment and he can just easily waltz right in?

*Then there's the fact that there are no cameras, nobody sees him inside this very valuable room, and surely ever spider should be accounted for, but nope nobody cares that one disappears with Peter.

*Nobody really cares that Peter jumps on the ceiling of the subway, tears the whole compartment up, then just leaves. None of those people told any authorities about this incident, no cameras in the subway?

*Does Peter just steal those web cartridges, or order them online? If he stole them, surely someone would have noticed as these things are quite powerful and valuable. Also they should have recognized that this masked vigilante who becomes extremely famous all over NYC is using there product for his source of webbing.

*If he just orders them from online, then WOW they must be really cheap, that anyone can just buy them. How can Peter afford something that should really be worth millions? Again, Oscorp still should have recognized that the webbing was theirs as well.

*Also this means really the only thing that separates Peter from everyone else to become Spiderman is only his ability to make the webshooters, as anyone can just walk into the Spider room and get bit and order some webbing from Oscorp. (I guess the webshooter must be extremely complex though so I'll let this slide as Peter still has to display his genius to make it.)

That's very true but some examples of 'escapees'

Toy Story 3
Back to the future 3 (well, it was better than 2)
Last Crusade
Return of the King
Return of the Jedi

but yes, 3rd movies usually SUCK.
Hecky nah ...

Easily the worst film of the bunch, in both cases.

But Back to the Future 3 was still a pretty good movie.

But I'm bias, seeing is Back to the Future is my favorite film franchise..

The Amazing Spider-Man 3:

(Spider-Man confronts convenience store thief.)

Peter: "Do you know how much suffering you put me through! The torment... now before you feel my pain, pal, tell me who you are."

Thief: "..."

Peter: "Say it!"

Thief: "Flint Marko! Argh."

Fans everywhere: "UGH NO!"
